Sal is a minor character in The Last of Us Part II.[1]

Background[]
After the Cordyceps brain infection outbreak, Sal found himself in the Seattle quarantine zone and joined the Washington Liberation Front to fight against FEDRA and the United States military's rule over the residents, eventually succeeding in driving them from the city.[2] After the conflict, Sal remained a member of the WLF to combat a new threat from the religious cult known as the Seraphites.[3]
Events of The Last of Us Part II[]
In April, 2038, Sal and his team were sent to the KMAB 13 News Station to help the WLF unit stationed there fight against a Seraphite ambush. However, upon arriving, Sal's team found Ellie and Dina and proceeded to chase them to the underground subway station.
Once in there, though, clickers attacked Sal and his team. While they managed to evade them, the group then encountered shamblers in the power room, who proceeded to incapacitate Sal. One of Sal's teammates attempted to carry Sal from the power room, but a shambler charged at them and killed the pair with its acidic spores.[1]
