Mike was an antagonist in The Last of Us Part II.[1] He was a member of the Washington Liberation Front.[2]
Biography[]
Background and early life[]
Little is known about Mike except that he joined the WLF at some point in Seattle and rose through the ranks highly enough that he was eventually put in command of a platoon.[1] At some point, Mike's platoon was stationed at the Serevena Hotel. While there, Mike ordered one soldier, Davis, to search the former WLF outposts nearby for supplies while he and the rest of the squad found gas to bring back to the hotel.[3]
Events of The Last of Us Part II[]
He and Jordan were ordered by the WLF leader, Isaac Dixon, to scavenge all remaining supplies from the local elementary school in preparation for an upcoming invasion of the Seraphites' remaining territory. Before going, he rendezvoused with his platoon in the WLF's mess hall at SoundView Stadium. While there, he played checkers against one of his squadmates while Jordan briefly talked with Abby.[2]
While surveying the surrounding area, Mike and his squad came across Ellie, Dina, and their horse Shimmer, after the trio detonated one of the squad's trap mines. Mike ordered his group to capture Dina, who had slipped away, while he personally killed Shimmer with a bullet to the head and then knocked Ellie out.
Sometime later, Mike relayed news of the event via radio to Isaac, who ordered Mike to kill the trespassers. Mike then returned to the classroom where Ellie was being held and found Jordan taunting her. He questioned why Jordan was doing so, to which Jordan replied that Ellie was present at Joel's death when he and his friends killed the former smuggler in Jackson. Mike dismissed Jordan's concerns, drawing his pistol in preparation for executing Ellie, per Isaac's orders. Jordan, however, attempted to stop him, suggesting they interrogate Ellie first to learn if more residents from Jackson had come to launch an attack on the WLF. Mike rejected the idea, pushing him aside and preparing to follow orders. However, before he could shoot, he was shot dead by Dina, who had managed to sneak up onto the roof above them.[1]

- Mike is voiced and motion captured by Reuben Langdon, who has previously portrayed other characters in The Last of Us, including James and clickers. He also provided work on Naughty Dog's Uncharted series.
