Ruby is a character in The Last of Us Part II. She is a resident of Jackson and works as a teacher for the community under Maria Miller's leadership.[1]
Biography[]
Ruby has been a resident in Jackson since at least 2036. Before the Cordyceps brain infection outbreak, she worked as a school teacher. After the outbreak, she fled her home and traveled the country with her family, avoiding hostile survivors and infected. In the winter of 2035, she made it to Jackson and camped with her family around the Mountain View trail. By 2036, an infected horde had migrated towards the trail, threatening Ruby and her family's safety. However, Tara encountered them when on patrol and rescued them. Once safe, she told them how she a patrolman from Jackson and offered to bring Ruby and her family back with her, noting they had electricity and children that Ruby could educate. Ruby was suspicious of the offer though, and refused to follow Tara back. Tara accepted this decision but left Ruby an invitation should she change her mind.[2]
