Dale was a character in The Last of Us Part II. Ellie encounters him sometime after he became infected and reached stage one.[1]

Dale lived in the Hillcrest suburb of Seattle with his wife.
Sometime after Sofia Legasov's death at the hands of the Washington Liberation Front (WLF),[2] a man wrote a note for Dale informing him of the code for the safe where the Hillcrest community stored most of their belongings in the local garage. The note revealed Dale's wife did not want to leave Hillcrest despite Dale and the note's writer wanting to leave the community to gain access to the medical care the WLF possessed at SoundView Stadium. He noted only Boris Legasov, Sofia's father, would resist Dale leaving the town, but advised him to ignore the man.[3] However, Dale never got the chance to leave Seattle as Boris captured and imprisoned him, Uli and other Hillcrest members in the spore infested garage as punishment for not supporting his campaign to seek revenge against the WLF.[4] In time, Dale and the others turned into runners.[1]

While searching for Tommy Miller, Ellie found the note for Dale in Hillcrest. She also broke into the garage where he and other infected Hillcrest members were trapped, and killed him and the others in self-defense.[1]
