Rue lived in Seattle with her father. Discontent with life under FEDRA after the Cordyceps brain infection outbreak, she joined the Washington Liberation Front and served under their leader, Isaac Dixon.
After FEDRA's defeat, Rue took part in the war against the Seraphites. On one patrol, Rue managed to capture a group of Seraphites and brought them to the WLF's Forward operating base, where Sergeant Foster tortured them for information. The Seraphites gave in and provided the WLF with information. Rue's father was informed that Isaac was impressed with her actions. Her father subsequently wrote to Rue, praising her but also imploring her to keep working hard to impress Isaac, hoping that impressing the WLF leader would bring more favor to their family.[1]
Events of The Last of Us Part II[]
In 2038, Ellie Williams finds the note Rue's father left for her while searching for Abby Anderson.[2]
