Eric is a character mentioned in The Last of Us Part II. He was a young boy who lived in Jackson, Wyoming sometime after the Cordyceps brain infection outbreak.[1]

Eric was a young boy who lived in a cul-de-sac in Jackson, Wyoming with his unnamed father sometime after the Cordyceps brain infection outbreak. He wrote a letter to Santa Claus asking him if he could have a dog for Christmas as Eric was a good boy for the year. He says that having a dog will help keep his father safe while he goes hunting for food, can protect their house from the infected, and could keep Eric company while his dad locks himself in his bedroom. He also asks Santa for a gun, as it would make him "stronger" and make his father happier.[2]
Eric's fate, as well as his father's, is unknown, as their house has been abandoned for many years when Ellie and Dina come across it in 2038.

Ellie can come across Eric's note to Santa while she's on patrol around Jackson with Dina.[2]
