Mei lived in Seattle under FEDRA's rule after the Cordyceps brain infection outbreak. She eventually joined the Washington Liberation Front and helped run a ration operation with her comrade Bo in the Jasmine Bakery shop. They worked with business partners, delivering shipments to them and kept their most valuable supplies in a safe. The code to access the safe was 689689.
However, before FEDRA's downfall, the group raided the bakery. Mei suspected Bo's former friend Jiao had tipped them off. Concerned that most of their merchandise had been confiscated, and that FEDRA would find them, Mei informed Bo that she had moved to a secret hideout and placed all of their remaining supplies into their safe and left it there for Bo to retrieve before meeting with Mei to escape the city. However, Bo never found the supplies.[1]
Events of The Last of Us Part II[]
In 2038, Abby Anderson comes across the shop when searching for Owen Moore. She finds Mei's note for Bo and uses it to access the safe and take the supplies left within for her own use.[2]
