Derek was a soldier within the Washington Liberation Front. She worked with Gavin and Alison at the Serevena Hotel. According to Alison, Derek was a clumsy man, always injuring himself on accident. In 2038, while patrolling with Alison, Derek proved this when he wounded his leg on a broken window. Noticing it needed medical aid, Alison helped him back to the Serevena hotel, leaving a note for Gavin to tell him about the incident.[1] Apparently his clumsiness resulted in injury often enough for Allison to refer to these incidents as "Derek fuckups" in the note she left.
Events of The Last of Us Part II[]
In 2038, Ellie Williams finds the note Alison wrote while searching for Abby Anderson.[2]
