Kyle was a resident of Seattle in September 2013. He was convinced by Neal Grant to join him, Leon Travis and B in a plan to rob the Westlake Bank, claiming the police would be preoccupied dealing with the rising numbers of sick people.
The four planned the robbery, learning the guards in the bank changed every two hours during the day and every four hours at night. The plan was for Leon to drop Neal, Kyle and B off at the front door at 1 AM. Then, Leon would drive to the back of the bank while the other three attacked and detained the security. Neal then would monitor the front door while Kyle covered the back so B could steal the money from within the vault using the code 60-23-06. Once the money was secured, Neal, Kyle and B would then flee out the back to meet Leon in the van and drive away with the money.[2]
The quartet went ahead with the raid on September 26, unaware they timed their raid with the beginning of the Cordyceps brain infection outbreak. While inside, Kyle was attacked by a runner, whom B managed to kill, despite being bitten in the process. Neal and Kyle then locked B inside, fleeing the bank with what money they could carry.[3]

In April 2038, Ellie can find a note mentioning Kyle while searching for Abby Anderson in Seattle.[1]
