Rose Graham (previously known as Lori Gilbert[fn 1]) is a minor character in The Last of Us Part I. She was a news reporter for KATX Channel 2 News in Austin who reported on the Cordyceps brain infection outbreak.[3]

Biography[]

Background[]

At some point before the Cordyceps brain infection outbreak, Rose became a news reporter for the local KATX Channel 2 news station in Austin, Texas.

Events of The Last of Us Part I[]

During the early hours of September 27th, 2013, Rose was outside a burning building in the heart of Austin, reporting on so-called "riots" caused by the infected. She was accompanied by several members of the Texas National Guard, who served as the protection detail for the news crew. A national guardsman suddenly reported a gas leak, which caused an explosion shortly thereafter. Sarah Miller watched these events unfold live from her father's television in his bedroom.[3] Rose's fate following the explosion is unknown.

Appearance[]

In the original The Last of Us and its remastered version, Rose (then known as Lori Gilbert) appears as a young, fair-skinned woman with long, chestnut hair and brown eyes. Her reporting attire consisted of a purple blazer and a necklace.

In The Last of Us Part I, her appearance was slightly altered. Now, she has short, chin-length brown hair, and wears a dark gray blazer instead.

Behind the scenes[]

  • In The Last of Us Part I remake, Rose is modeled after senior character artist Colleen Larson, as she had the opportunity to use her own likeness to create the model.[2]

Notes[]

  1. "Lori Gilbert" is the name of the character in the original The Last of Us and its remastered version. Her name was later updated to "Rose Graham" in The Last of Us Part I.
