Benny is a minor character in The Last of Us Part II.[1]
Biography[]
At some point after the Cordyceps brain infection outbreak, Benny joined FEDRA and supported the United States military in their war against the Washington Liberation Front in Seattle. However, he was close to Sandra, a member of the WLF, which complicated his relationship with FEDRA.[2]
Indeed, Benny viewed the WLF as nothing more than misguided killers but his views came into question after the Thursday Market Massacre, when the military killed several families protesting for food, even though they did not have any connection to the WLF. Further, the military began banishing people from the zone for sedition, an act that damaged his relationship with Sandra.
In time, the conflict took a bad turn for the military. Sandra sent Benny a note offering to provide him with protection if he quit FEDRA before the city fell to the WLF. She arranged to meet him at Ruston Coffee at 2 AM on a Friday.[2] However, he did not go and instead took part in the final stand against the WLF at the courthouse, where he was captured and executed, the note Sandra left him still on his person.[1]
