Durandal Call is a Special Attack used by Ky Kiske between Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- and Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2, which consists of fortifying the projectiles in his arsenal via the use of "grinders".
Design[]
Grinders are circular floating rune with four smaller circles that spin around it.
Overview[]
By using his Dust or Split Ciel, Ky sets down a Grinder (グラインダー, Guraindā?) which stays in place for about 5 seconds. While it is active, Ky can launch Sacred Edge or any version of Stun Edge into it, which will increase the range of the projectile fired as well as the damage output. After being used as such, the Grinder disappears.
Details[]
Dust[]
Ky's standing , which can also be used in the air, is a standard overhead attack that will place a Grinder at the same time. It is among the slower neutral Dust moves in the cast, but it is safer on block that Ky's other grounded overhead, Greed Sever. It counts as a projectile, so it can Yellow Roman Canceled (becoming a mid attack in the process, however) and can destroy an opponent's projectile while leaving a Grinder, but its slow startup makes it difficult to use for the latter purpose.[1]
Split Ciel[]

Split Ciel can be performed through the input +
. This Special Attack is used to summon Grinders quickly and safely as possible while in neutral or during combos, and/or to end blockstrings, but one must must be careful when pushed out too far due to its recovery time amount.[2]
