Axl Bomber is one of Axl Low's Special Attacks, first appearing in Guilty Gear X and has been a staple of his moveset ever since.
Overview[]
In its original incarnation that can only be done while already in midair, Axl sets his following-handed sickle ablaze and launches himself upwards with an upwards swing. This version can also be performed as a grounded followup to the 
Benten Gari.
Only in the Accent Core games, Axl instead halts his aerial momentum and dives downwards diagonally-steep with a fire trail, landing on the ground in a stomping-skid. The original upwards version then becomes a Force Break with 
that preserves all of his current air options when used (and also has air-throw invulnerability frames), and both versions have rather long untechable time which can make it hard to punish Axl during aerial battles.
Eventually in the Xrd games, Axl Bomber returns to being its original upwards variant in the air.
