Warrant is one of Testament's Special Attacks, first appearing in Guilty Gear X and last seen in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R.

Overview[]

Testament taunts his opponent by holding his arms out, letting his scythe stand in place for a second too. If the opponent hits Testament with any level attack, he dissipates into a pool of blood, teleports behind his opponent, then reforms to strike, poisoning his opponent for 8 seconds, unless the opponent hits Testament again.

In later iterations of Guilty Gear XX, Warrant gains 2 variations:

Attack Input Description
GGXX Lucht Warrant

Lucht Warrant (ルフトウォレント, Rufuto U~orento?)

  • DownDown + Punch or Kick (regular Testament)
  • LeftDownDown Left Punch or Kick (regular Testament, ACPR)
  • LeftDownDown Left or RightDownDown Right + Slash (EX Testament)
Rather than it being a counter, Testament simply dissipates into blood and teleports forward (Punch/LeftDownDown Left + Slash) or behind his opponent (Kick/RightDownDown Right + Slash); however, EX Testament's Lucht Warrant can still poison the opponent on contact, whereas the regular Testament's cannot.

Dipp Scythe (ディップサイス, Dippu Saisu?)

RightDownDown Right + Punch (as EX Testament) Testament dissipates into blood as usual - however, instead of going front or back, he teleports above his opponent to strike them with his scythe.

Trivia[]

  • The attack's namesake comes from the American death metal band.
  • The faces shown in Testament's blood form during Warrant bear resemblance to Risotto Nero's Metallica Stand in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.
