Shigekiteki Zetsumei Ken, known as Gamble Attack in Guilty Gear X and Λ Core and as Stimulating Fists of Annihilation in Xrd, is one of Faust's classic Overdrive Attacks. In Guilty Gear -Strive-, it was replaced by Bone-crushing Excitement.

Overview[]

Faust dives into the ground whilst them and the opponent partake in a game of chance. After the game is done, Faust's eye flashes before sending his scalpel upwards towards the opponents butt, dealing damage or healing depending on the outcome. The opponent is then sent into an untechable small launching knockdown as Faust emerges in a pose before returning to neutral and the foe gets back up.

However, if the opponent selects the right choice that prevents Faust from stabbing them, an explosion instead occurs which inflicts a bit of damage to Faust via a vertical launch effect that cannot be teched.

The opponent reacts in a comedic fashion via having their own set of quotes for whenever the move lands on them. In Xrd, with Faust instead jamming his fingers up their rear instead of his scalpel, the victim also gets an up-close of their reaction face.

Trivia[]

  • This Overdrive is likely an exaggerated take on the Japanese "kanchō" prank, moreso with the Xrd version of the move involving Faust's fingers as opposed to his scalpel.
  • In Xrd, there are more specific nuances per character when they react to this move:
    • Dizzy is the only character when hit not to react, instead Undine does.
    • Johnny's reaction bares a similarity to one of the faces made by Katsuya Jōno'uchi AKA Joey Wheeler from Yu-Gi-Oh.
    • I-No, given her nature, displays erotic pleasure instead.
    • Slayer's hair changes to the shape of Devilman, an old manga character.
    • Raven is the only one not to display erotic pleasure or pain, instead being more a face of excitement.
    • Jam's reaction seems to have been inspired by specific type of manga artstyle (potentially JoJo's Bizarre Adventure).
    • Haehyun is only seen from inside confusedly observing a mass amount of error pop-ups, presumably from Jeon Ryok taking the brunt of the attack.
