Sacred Edge is Ky Kiske's second Overdrive Attack, appearing for the first time in Guilty Gear XX.

It also served as an Overdrive for Robo-Ky's before his revamp in Guilty Gear XX ♯Reload.

Overview[]

Ky draws magic circle that in front of him with his front hand, then swings the same arm in a horizontal arc to throw out an enormous blade of electricity straight ahead to his intended target. In most appearances, it is blue; as of Guilty Gear -Strive-, it is yellow.

Durandal Call version

In the Guilty Gear Xrd series, Sacred Edge becomes Durandal Call when it passes through a Grinder, increasing its range as well as its damage output. This also applies to his Stun Edge line of attacks.

Sacred Edge acts as a "real Shinku Hadoken" for Ky, allowing him a more long range reliant overdrive to strike at foes without putting him directly in the face of a potential countertattack, increases his presence as a zoner, allowing him to control space and harbor a greater deal with tactical mind games with a more punishing and fast hitting projectile attack than Heavy Stun Edge, and its speed allows it to strike at far foes eager to participate in projectile wars and poking offensives as a punish.

Due to its speed and launch trajectory, Sacred Edge is imprecise up-close, not allowing it to land all five hits. In EX Mode, Sacred Edge's launch trajectory has it remain stationary, allowing the attack to score all five hits with more precision.
