Stun Edge is one of Ky Kiske's Special Attacks, first appearing in the original Guilty Gear and has been a staple of his move set since.

Overview[]

Ky slashes out an electrical projectile. The Slash version is slower on the ground and has a lower angle in the air, while the Heavy Slash version is faster on the ground and has a far angle in the air.

In Guilty Gear, Ky can charge the ground version of Stun Edge by holding Respect instead of Slash or Heavy Slash. The level 2 version increases the size and drastically increases its damage, while the Level 3 variant turns it into a large, multi-hit projectile that deals massive damage.

From Guilty Gear X to Guilty Gear XX ♯Reload, the grounded Heavy Slash version is replaced with Stun Edge Charge Attack (スタンエッジ・チャージアタック, Sutan Ejji Chāji Attaku?), a toned-down version of Level 3 Stun Edge from the first game - this would be reallocated to Dust in Guilty Gear XX Slash and could be used in the air, though this would change back in Guilty Gear Xrd onwards.

Additionally, in the Xrd series, having a Stun Edge pass through a Grinder, this will turn the projectile into Durandal Call, changing the properties of the projectile into the form of a sword-shaped beam as well giving them increased priority over other attacks. The Charge Attack version especially turns into a delayed drilling claymore, which Ky can act for a bit as the hitboxes emerge for pressure and/or joint okizeme.

In Guilty Gear -Strive-, all versions of Stun Edge put the opponent in the Shock State on contact, which powers up all of Ky's electric-based attacks (Stun Edge, Dire Eclat & Sacred Edge), as well as increasing chip damage on all of his other Special Attacks.
