Shitsu is one of Anji Mito's Special Attacks, first appearing in Guilty Gear X.

Overview[]

Anji sends out a small blue (for default color) butterfly that flies in a straight line. If blocked by the opponent, the butterfly takes on the form of a larger bird that bounces high, then drops down on the opponent a second time. After this second hit, it disappears completely.

When falling down from the aforementioned bounce, the hawk projectile originally hit overhead. However, as of XX Slash, the butterfly projectile would turn into the falling hawk on either hit or block when the projectile connects, or even contacting another projectile. At a cost however, it no longer hit overhead.

This property of Shitsu via the butterfly-turning into the hawk across its appearances essentially forms the cornerstone of Anji's okizeme/wake-up offense as it can be otherwise too slow to use in standard projectile wars.

In the Accent Core games however, the aforementioned hawk projectile's overhead property is replicated by the new Force Break version. FB Shitsu while colored orange instead travels further/faster, goes through-and-consumes most opposing projectiles (special stronger ones are instead ignored) and the hawk hits overhead on the way down. Even then, it is not exactly a straight upgrade to the normal Shitsu due to the increased travel speed preventing stronger zoning deployment vs. the base version's slower speed.

In Strive, Shitsu is more or less the same.
