Winter Mantis, originally known as Spindle Spinner & Rashousen (羅鐘旋, Rashōsen?, lit. Silk Bell Whirl) is one of Axl Low's Special Attacks, first appearing in Guilty Gear X and has been a staple of his moveset since.

Overview[]

In the Guilty Gear X & XX series, Axl throws out a blue-spindling-projectile at his opponent's legs that counts as an unblockable hit-grab. If it connects, he slides towards them to leap upwards past them to wrap his chain around their body, and hoists them up (on the said spindle) as he lands back down diagonally away from them. After a brief remark (including an instance where he says the technique's name), he then makes them explode as he exclaims "YES!" with a visible text.

The attack is much the same in Guilty Gear Xrd, however instead of a blue projectile, Axl throws a triad of chains at his opponent's shins that wrap around them before Axl finishes the attack.

In Guilty Gear -Strive-, Axl sends out one of his sickles to tunnel through the ground, then pulls it back to strike his opponent's legs, and finishes the attack off with a strong lariat.
