Phantom Soul is one of Testament's Special Attacks, first appearing in the original Guilty Gear and last appearing in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R, getting replaced by Unholy Diver in Guilty Gear -Strive-.

Overview[]

Testament throws out a skull shrouded by a dark aura, floating towards the opponent. In the original Guilty Gear, it travels halfway across the screen before floating in place for 3 seconds, or until the opponent gets hit by it. As of Guilty Gear X, the Punch version comes out low, while the Kick version flies high.

Originally, Phantom Soul was a regular projectile. In Guilty Gear X and beyond, if the opponent gets hit by the skull, they get marked with a seal that has both their crow and succubus attack the opponent; the crow diving into the opponent or throwing 3 feathers at a time, and Succubus using her own scythe to strike from above.

Taunting while the seal is active will delay the next attack from the familiars for a brief period.
