Deal is one of Johnny's Special Attacks, first appearing in Guilty Gear -Strive-, replacing Glitter Is Gold.

Overview[]

Johnny throws out a playing card; the distance and direction it travels depends on the button:

  • Punch - short-distance, slightly up.
  • Kick - long-distance, slightly up.
  • Slash - mid-distance, diagonally up.
  • Heavy Slash - acute angle, diagonally down. Also applies as the follow-up to Vault.

The card will gradually flutter down until it gets stuck in the ground by its lower corner, and will stay there for 5 seconds. The ground versions of Deal have no hitboxes which cannot damage opponents directly, but the midair/Vault versions can, and will still stay on the floor as they pierce through the opponent instead of dissipating on contact like most projectiles.

GGST Turn Up

Deal

If the card is struck by Mist Finer, it will trigger Turn Up, an attack that launches the opponent up with a vertical mini-slash, even while planted in the ground (which then consumes the card).

Also unlike Glitter is Gold, cards are infinite in usage, but only 1 card at a time can be sent out on screen as dealing out another card causes the prior-dealt card to vanish.
