How to change Furfrou forms and Trims in Pokémon Go

Change your Furfrou Trims depending on where you are

Pokémon Go now has Furfrou, the poodle-like Pokémon that has multiple forms. For those looking to grab every form of Furfrou, you’ll need to travel around. Our Pokémon Go guide explains the different Furfrou forms and where to get them.

Furfrou can be found spawning everywhere, with spawns increasing during specific events, like Fashion Week. Furfrou is also available to find Shiny, if you’re lucky, so you’ll want to take advantage of events when its spawn rate is increased to grab one.

How to change Furfrou’s forms in Pokémon Go

Once you grab a Furfrou, you can change its form using 10,000 Stardust and 25 Furfrou Candy. Once you tap the button on its profile page, you will have an option of several different forms to change it to.

Furfrou’s regular and Shiny forms with all the trims. In each version of the Shiny, the white and black fur pattern on Furfrou is inverted. Its skin is white and its fur is black, instead of the other way around. Each Furfrou trim has a different featured color. Dandy is green, Debutante is yellow, Diamond is orange, Pharaoh is dark blue, Heart is pink, Kabuki is red, La Reine is light blue, Matron is dark pink, and Star is sky blue. Furfrou has different forms, referred to as Trims. Some Trims are available for everyone, with some being locked to different regions. The Trims are as follows:

  • Matron Trim: Available everywhere
  • Dandy Trim: Available everywhere
  • Debutante Trim: Americas only
  • Diamond Trim: Europe, the Middle East, and Africa only
  • Star Trim: Asia-Pacific only
  • La Reine Trim: France only
  • Kabuki Trim: Japan only
  • Pharaoh Trim: Egypt only
  • Heart Trim: Valentine’s Day event only

You don’t need to catch the Furfrou in the respective region to form change it, you just need to be in that area. This means you can save up a bunch of Furfrou you’ve caught over time and change the form if you ever travel to these regions.

How to get Heart Trim Furfrou in Pokémon Go

Unlike Furfrou’s other trims, Heart Trim is an event exclusive that you can only get during certain times of the year. So far, we’ve only seen it available during the 2022 Valentine’s Day event, which lasted from Feb. 10-14. It’s likely that Heart Trim Furfrou will be available every Valentine’s Day event going forward, but we’re unsure if it’ll show up in any other events.

During the event period, you are able to select the Heart Trim from your trim options and change your Furfrou to it for the usual cost of 25 Furfrou Candy and 10,000 Stardust.
