Zacian, the Legendary wolf Pokémon from the Galar region, is one of Pokémon Go’s potential tier five raid targets. Our Pokémon Go Zacian raid guide explains Zacian’s best movesets, counters, and weaknesses.

Zacian notably has two different forms. Its plain, Hero of Many Battles version is only fairy-type, whereas it gains a steel-typing with its Crowned Sword form. The Crowned Sword version of Zacian is not available in Pokémon Go yet, so this guide will only provide information on its Hero of Many Battles form until it gets added to the game.

Zacian Hero of Many Battles best counters and weaknesses

In its Hero of Many Battles form, Zacian is only fairy-type, meaning it’s weak against poison- and steel-types. Bring those along to your battles. Powerful counters include the following:

  • Dialga with Metal Claw and Iron Head
  • Metagross with Bullet Punch and Meteor Mash
  • Excadrill with Metal Claw and Iron Head
  • Roserade with Poison Jab and Sludge Bomb
  • Genesect with Metal Claw and Magnet Bomb

If you have Beedrill Mega Energy, you can also use Mega Beedrill with Poison Jab and Sludge Bomb. Mega Gengar with Lick or Shadow Claw paired with Sludge Bomb will also do quite a bit of damage.

Ideally for the most damage, you’ll also want it to be snowy or cloudy, since this will give you weather boost.

Honestly, this form of Zacian is not going to be that strong, especially in comparison to its Crowned Sword form. If you still want to use it, give it Snarl and Close Combat or Play Rough.

Is Zacian available Shiny?

No, Zacian cannot be found Shiny yet.
