Entei is a fire-type Legendary Pokémon that can appear in Pokémon Go raids. Our Pokémon Go Entei raid guide will explain Entei’s best counters, weaknesses, and best moveset.

Entei best counters and weaknesses

Entei is weak against water-, ground-, and rock-type moves, so stick to those when facing off against it. Entei best counters include the following:

  • Kyogre with Waterfall and Hydro Pump
  • Tyranitar with Smack Down and Stone Edge
  • Garchomp with Mud Shot and Earthquake or Earth Power
  • Rhyperior with Smack Down and Stone Edge

Vaporeon, Groudon, and fully evolved water starters will also get the job done fairly well if you lack any of the absolute units we listed above.

Keep the weather in mind, as different conditions will boost different move types. Sunny or clear weather boosts ground-type moves, rainy weather boosts water-type moves, and partly cloudy weather boosts rock-type moves.

Entei best moveset

Entei does the best with Fire Spin and Overheat.

Entei isn’t the best fire-type attacker, but if you manage to grab a Shadow Entei from Team Go Rocket, it’ll do way more damage. (You cannot get Shadow Pokémon from raids. You can only get it from Team Go Rocket Research.)

Can Entei be Shiny?

Lucky players may encounter a Shiny Entei. If you do see a Shiny, you’ll catch it on the first ball you hit it with, so use a Pinap Berry to score some extra candy.
