Pokémon Go guide: How to evolve Magneton

In Pokémon Go, you can evolve Magnemite normally, but to evolve Magneton into Magnezone, you’ll need to do something special.

Evolving the small Magnemite into Magneton only requires 25 Magnemite Candy. To evolve Magneton into Magnezone, you’ll need to be around a Magnetic Lure Module placed on a PokéStop. Once you’re in its range, you can evolve it using 100 Magnemite Candy. The prompt to evolve your Magneton will turn green from red once you can evolve it.

You can purchase Magnetic Lure Modules from the shop for 200 Poké Coins each, though sometimes Timed Research from events will reward them. Places with lots of PokéStops may also have Magnetic Lure Modules active from other players during Community Days and similar events.

If you’re trying to collect several Magnezone, since they are good electric-types for raids and gyms, it’s best to evolve multiple at once using one lure. Its best moveset is Spark and Wild Charge.

Magnemite, Magneton, and Magnezone are all available to find Shiny.
