Simone Ashwini Pillai (born March 30, 1995), known professionally as Simone Ashley, is a British actress. She portrayed Olivia Hanan on Netflix's Sex Education.
Biography[]
Ashley was born to Indian Tamil parents Latha and Gunasekharan Pillai. Her first acting role was in two episodes of fantasy teen drama Wolfblood as Zuhra. This was followed by appearances in thriller series Guilt (2016), and crime drama Broadchurch (2017). She made her feature film debut in 2018 with a small role in Boogie Man as Aarti, and a more prominent role in Kill Ben Lyk as one of the many characters named Ben Lyk.
In 2019, she began playing Olivia Hanan, a member of the Untouchables clique, in the comedy-drama Sex Education. This role was reprised until the end of season three, at which time she began auditioning for Bridgerton, where she was annouced as a new star of it in early 2021, portraying Kathani 'Kate' Sharma.
On April 12, Simone appeared on U.K. network ITV’s This Morning, where she revealed that she will not be returning for the fourth season of Sex Education.[1]
