Asuka R. Kreutz/R♯ - That Man is a recurring character throughout the Guilty Gear series, having his only playable appearance in Guilty Gear -Strive-.

Stats[]

Playstyle[]

As to be expected for a character as complicated as Asuka, so is his moveset - despite having 4 Special Attack inputs.

Asuka's main method of attack is Chant, using the spells equipped to each of his respective PunchKickSlashHeavy Slash buttons - and their respective Test Cases, which he can change by inputting DownDown + Heavy Slash, then Punch, Kick or Slash - each Test Case has its own special set of spells, which have a limited number of uses each per round.

Additionally, Asuka can bookmark spells by inputting DownDown LeftLeft and the respective PunchKickSlashHeavy Slash button, saving the spell(s) for later use and make way for others. He also has an Overdrive variant that allows him to swap out any spells of his choosing within a short timeframe, as well as restocking any and all empty slots.

In addition to having said Test Cases, Asuka also has to rely on Mana to use the spells, which he can refill by inputting DownDown + Punch - this recovers Mana at a slow pace, but doesn't cost any resources; Kick - uses Tension to increase the speed, or Slash - this is the fastest way to recover Mana, though it uses up health.

His other Overdrive Attack, High Compression Submicron Particle Sphere, is surprisingly basic given how convoluted the rest of his moveset is, since he fires a large polygonal projectile in a straight line - however, the Punch version can be affected by High & Low Pass Filter Gravity, Shooting Time Stretch (Accelerate) & Decelerate, and Gravity/Repulsive Rod (Shooting).
