A Cocoon is a common enemy native to the Clay Caves and Larva Hive.
When approached by a player, it will begin to rapidly shake. Unless destroyed within 3 seconds, it will burst open and leave behind a husk, spawning 3-9 Larva in the process.

Tips[]
- Using Cocoon Figurines with a Materializer is especially useful for quickly leveling up the Vitality, Melee combat and Range combat skills, as the steady amount of Larvae created by them can be defeated over and over for quickly racking up experience points.
- Without a decently strong weapon, there is not much of a point to try and destroy a Cocoon before it hatches, as it will not affect the health or strength of the resulting Larva.
- Avoid getting too close to a Cocoon without having means of rapidly killing the Larvae it will spawn, as they can quickly swarm you after hatching if you are not prepared.
History[]
- 0.7.0.4-fe7b: Larva spawning from a Cocoon that in turn spawned from a Materializer will now also act as temporary spawns that do not drop loot.
