Anna Charles is one of the recurring characters in Sex Education. She is portrayed by Indra Ové.

Season 3[]
After Maeve called social services on Erin discovering that she relapsed, Anna became a foster parent to Elsie.
Maeve initially doesn't like Anna much, and believes that she secretly funded her trip to France.
By the end of season 3, Anna and Maeve become very close and Anna invites her to live with her and Elsie.
Season 4[]
After Maeve comes back home from America, Anna and Elsie pick her up from the bus station and take her home. Anna is also very supportive of Maeve after the death of her mother.

Elsie Wiley (foster daughter)[]
Anna is Elsie's foster mother. Anna treats Elsie like her real daughter as she's lovely and caring for her.
Maeve Wiley (daughter figure; former housemate)[]
Anna is Elsie's foster mother. She offers Maeve to move in with her and Elsie in season 3. Despite this, Maeve leaves to America in the end of the season and eventually comes back in episode 4.4, after getting the news about the passing of her mother. After all, Maeve after a while of hesitation decides to go back to America to carry on with studying there.
Personality[]
Maeve initially thought that Anna was a know-it-all, but they ended up being friends. Anna is outgoing, mindful and very optimistic. Anna is a foster mum for Elsie Wiley and she is shown to be a smoker. She is a caring woman and loves Elsie and Maeve as if they were her own children.
