A roof light is a natural light source which generates from the ceiling of caves.
Outside of the Meadow biome and certain rare scenes, roof lights are nearly never found in the inner biomes of the world. Azeos' Wilderness, the Sunken Sea and the Desert of Beginnings contain roof lights in abundance.
Roof lights can be created and removed by the player using the Roofing Gadget. They can also be removed by placing any wall directly underneath.

While this is no straightforward and intentional way to create roof lights, the thunder beams spawned from the Soul of Azeos will create roof lights in the process of generating the beams. Cave-ins, while rare, will also create roof lights where the Fallen Rocks land.
