Biqe Yalanda Odanse (ヨーランド・ビクエ・オーデンセ Yoorando Bikue Oodense?, "Yolande Biqe Odanse"), is a character in Tales of the Rays. She is a priestess of Dana and referred to as the Yaw Biqe (ヨウ・ビクエ You Bikue?, "Yobikue"[1]), the most powerful mirrist in the world at the time she was alive.
History[]
Yalanda is a descendant of Dana's detached mirrite. Likely due to her lineage, Yalanda was so powerful she was able to hear Dana's voice without the goddess's need to manifest. At some point Dana adopted Yalanda as a pseudo-mirrite due to Tir Na Nog being Dana's virtual mirror field made real by Balor and Yalanda's immense power resulting in her being capable of doing things a normal mirrist is unable to do. Yalanda served as the guardian of Dana's heart core, kept part of the seal on spirits that makes them asleep, and was in reserve for when a new Tir Na Nog needed to be exoflected one day.
Appearance and Personality[]
Yalanda has green eyes and long blonde hair with a gold ornament in them. She wears a white revealing dress with black and gold accents with her mirrage serving her as a necklace.
Fighting Style[]
When it comes to strike artes, Yalanda fights mainly with her legs, although she does get a few artes in which she expels gathered elemental chiral particles with her hands. She also has several magic artes, including a healing spell. As a break from traditional arte naming scheme, Yalanda's strike artes are English words rendered in katakana, while her spells are written in kanji and include no (の?), the genitive case marker.
Trivia[]
- Yalanda's name in Japanese is word play on the term "daily quest", which in Japan is rendered as youbi kuesto (ようびクエスト?). Back when Tales of the Rays had global service, "Yaw Bique" received divergent localizations as the pun would not be noticeable by overseas fans: the title for the most powerful mirrist at the time uses the original Japanese name, while when refering to the character the localization term chose "Yalanda Odanse".
