Kodama Atwood (コダマ・アトウッド Kodama Atooddo?), is the main protagonist of Tales of the Rays: Recollection. He is a rookie Reaper Knight.
History[]
As a boy, was attacked by Illusionares. He would have lost his life if not for the timely arrival of Haze Cesario Ideafeldt, the immortal queen of Neo-Idea, who saved him. Without the knowledge of his birthplace, parent, or even his real name, the boy was given the name "Kodama" due to his hearing the voices of the Illusionares. When he came of age, Kodama was eager to return the favor, and joined the Reaper Knights, an anti-Illusionare task force, as a means to protect the queen. His displaced status, as well as his lack of a hometown and past memories, make him the target of considerable discrimination. In spite of it all, he presses on with his head held high and grows into a distinguished young man.
Appearance and Personality[]

Kodama's attire consists of black leggings, and green shirt with brighter colors on the torso, in contrast with darker colors on the arms, and a bright orange color underneath the sleeves.
Quick-witted, he isn't afraid to get his hands dirty if he feels the ends justify the means—anything to help out his friends or those in trouble. Though he has a devious side, he's a charismatic guy that nobody can bring themselves to dislike.
Haze adores his dutiful loyalty but worries if that will make him reckless in the turbulent era he is currently living.
Fighting Style[]
Kodama fights using two long-bladed katars, the right one longer than the left. When the handles are placed together, these katars resemble the hands on a clock, which reflects his time abilities. Kodama's stance has him slightly hopping, showing his reliance on mobility. In combat, Kodama's time abilities allow him to warp to different nearby areas, further elevating his mobility.

- Kodama's surname, Atwood, descends from the ancient Anglo-Saxon culture and has its roots in England. The name signifies "at the wood", derived from the Middle English phrase “atte wode” (Old English "æt thǣm wuda"), which means "by the wood".
