Sara (サラ^?) is one of the protagonists of Tales of Link. She is an adventurer who has set out from her village to travel the world. She meets Lippy on her journey, and together, they search for the Savior to purify the seeds of ruin.

History[]

On the Brother's Trail[]

Sara became an adventurer because she admired her brother, Caesar. She also had a dream when she was a kid that she left home to find the most beautiful view, and she wanted to find something from that dream. While traveling, Sara saves Lippy, a sprite from the Heavens, from a monster and decides to join him on his quest to find the Savior and purify the seeds of ruin. Along the way, she discovers that her brother, Caesar, has been influenced by the seeds of ruin to sow discord and wreak havoc on the world. One day, she and Lippy discover the Savior and drag him into a battle with Caesar and his ruinators. Giving him a Hero Stone, the Savior displays his prowess with stonecantation and defeats the ruinators, showing him to be the person they were looking for and causing Caesar to flee. The trio gives chase, with Sara explaining to the Savior why they were searching for him. The Savior agrees to go with them, and they go on a journey to purify the seeds of ruin and chase down Sara's brother.

The trio follows the readings from Lippy's smartphon, which can detect magical disturbances, in hopes of finding Caesar once more. Each disturbance is a seed of ruin they purify with the help of others. Within Libnas, however, they are mistaken for the kidnappers of Luke fon Fabre and are forced to flee. Asbel Lhant gives them refuge and helps them rescue Luke from Agria, but it is only in time for Nidhogg's plans to spark in Sairan. Multiple seeds of ruin sprout within the city, which Lippy's smartphon was unable to detect due to being magically jammed. The Savior, Sara, and Lippy, with the aid of many locals, are able to defeat the ruinators that spawn and prevent Sairan from becoming blightland. They discover that Caesar is a member of Nidhogg, lead by Lilium and tasked with creating blightland. The trio then continue onward to the next seed of ruin, hoping to find Caesar once more.

An Adventure in the Past[]

In a previous life, Sara is an adventurer who transports packages along the main roads. While traveling, she saves Kana from a monster, but in turn has to be saved by Zephyr, Allen, and Lippy. She aids them in escorting Kana back to Liuse. There, they learn from Feil that Kana is entrusted by divine revelation to take the power of the Three Goddesses of the Beyond and become the Great Savior who will purify all of the seeds of ruin. Deciding that it is in line with their mission, Allen, Zephyr, and Lippy join Kana in traveling to the various temples and inherit the power of the goddesses, with Sara joining them.

During their travels, they come across a place that Sara has heard about, a giant tree named Louina. The group decides to make a detour there, and Sara tells the group how she once wanted to be a world-class adventurer like her brother. She says she might have been influenced by the adventurer novels she read as a child, but nothing gets her more excited than seeing places she has never been. Unfortunately, the state of the world is such that she is not strong enough to stray from the main roads. Allen encourages her anyway, and she vows to become strong enough to blaze her own trails.

After traveling to various locations, Kana successfully obtains the power of all three goddesses. Back in Liuse, however, they discover that Feil is not who he seems. He is actually a dangerous researcher named Dinan who is wanted for inhumane experiments. Feil experimented on Kana to make her a vessel for the goddesses' power and intends to use her to destroy the world for his own insane ambitions. Though they manage to save Kana from performing the ritual to destroy the world, Feil activates a seed of ruin using the gathered power and creates Nidhogg, who consumes him. During the fight against Nidhogg, Sara takes a fatal blow. Allen and Lippy cast an intricate healing arte that uses parts of their own souls to heal another, while Zephyr distracts Nidhogg and Kana enacts a binding arte using the power of the goddesses. The healing arte is successful, binding the three on the level of their souls, but Nidhogg consumes Kana as the binding arte completes, and Zephyr is also drawn into the seal while Allen shouts Zephyr's true name: Lilium.

Lilium reveals that all of existence is a cycle. After millennia upon millennia, events tend to reoccur, and eventually even lives will take the same shape. In order to escape his prison and save Kana, Lilium formed a pact with Nidhogg to give him the power of the goddesses of the beyond. That power is located within the souls of the Savior, Sara, and Lippy, having been infused in them during their healing arte. Lilium waits for the day when all three are reborn once more and follow the trail of the seeds of ruin to him. Then, he kills them and attempts to steal the power of the goddesses but fails. These events repeat for an unknown amount of time as Lilium attempts to rescue Kana by killing his former partner and companions. The cycle continues until the present.

Appearance and Personality[]

Sara is young girl with a strong sense of adventure. She has fair skin, blue eyes, and dulled pink hair tied in a side ponytail by a lime-green cloth. Her unusual attire consists of a red vest and matching sleeves, leaving her shoulders exposed. This flashy ensemble is accompanied by a small top covering her breasts and black bloomers, with her midriff obstructed by some leather straps that hold some form of carrier on her hip. Her legs are mostly covered with grayish-white stockings that reveal her thighs and calves, while her blue, white, and orange boots complete her look.

Fighting Style[]

In Tales of Link, Sara uses a sword and utilizes various artes that are exclusive to her. Tales of the Rays marks Sara's first playable appearance in Tales series in three-dimensional form resulting in her distinct fighting style where she fights using a sword with an energy blade that is capable of firing bullets at foes. Her strike artes are geared toward aerial combat as the many artes she possesses are performed in midair. Unlike her Tales of Link appearance, Sara also has access to First Aid and Photon.
