Lazaris (ラザリス Razarisu?) is the primary antagonist and final boss in Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 3. She masquerades as the Descender of Luminasia, when she is actually Jildea's equivalent of a Descender.

History[]

Lazaris is actually a fragment of the unborn world of Jildea, which was produced as a seed from the World Tree but never sprouted. Lazaris despises the people of Luminasia for over-exploiting their world and intends to transform Luminasia into Jildea.

Appearance and Personality[]

Lazaris is a pale-skinned girl with red eyes and white hair dipped with red. Her body is slender and has an androgynous appearance. This is because she was constructed based on the documents (information that makes up the substance) of the "humans" living in Luminasia, giving her the same appearance as the humans she hates. She wears a crystal over her left eye that she uses as a ranged weapon, and her attire is a dress decorated with purple crystals.

When Lazaris is not speaking in a melancholy manner, she is suddenly snapping violently. Lazaris is so desperate for her own world, Jildea, to be born, that she would go so far as to destroy Luminasia. She acknowledges that her wish is a selfish one but justifies it through reasoning that Luminasia essentially denied Jildea's birth.

In her Chaos Lazaris (カオスラザリス Kaosurazarisu?) form, her arms become crystaline blades while her lower body becomes a giant, sphere-shaped base with three razor shurikens on the bottom. In this form, Lazaris's voice becomes warped and louder.

Fighting Style[]

Lazaris runs as if gravity does not affect her. She fights primarily using her legs in close combat, and uses her crystal eye as a ranged weapon, firing plasma-based beams or different projectiles. Each of Lazaris's strike artes are completely original, reflecting on negative aspects, and only has two magic artes: Holy Lance and Divine Saber.

Chaos Lazaris trades the magic casting for an arteset solely on strike artes. She cannot move from the middle of the area, but instead has four Lazaris Stems (ラザリス幹官?) around her that casts spells for her. She also gains the mystic arte Sekaisouzou no Melt.

In the second chapter of Tales of Asteria, Originally, Lazaris is originally an inactive entity, carving out the history of the world as a "collection of consciousness of people living in the world". However, in the aftermath of the world regeneration power carried out by Descender, she is given a will and a body.

The Crystal Land and the Guiding Light[]

In the third chapter, Lazaris lays dormant on the Heavenly Throne. As a result of seeing the history and current state of the world in this state, she becomes despairing of humans who only fight, and begins to take actions, such as crystallization, in order to bring about peace with her own power. Despite Sorey and Mikleo's armatus destroying the Heavenly Throne at the end of the arc, the party fails to stop the crystallization phenomenon. When Lazaris eventually wakes up, she causes crystallization phenomena to occur all over the world, transforming it into Entelestia, the world of Lazaris, where all humans' memories are tampered with.

Echoes of Paradise[]

In the fourth chapter, Lazaris reigns as the Heavenly Emperess (天帝?) of Entelestia, worshiped for bringing eternal peace to the world. She has her direct subordinates, the White Lion, protect her. Despite Van Grants's position as her Prime Minister, Lazaris does not trust him.

However, possibly because the throne was destroyed, the alterations were left incomplete, as singularities in Entelestia are causing some humans to regain their memories of the original world by chance, as well as some unique creatures filled with memories of the original world. In response, Lazaris excommunicates the humans who had regained their memories as heretics and works with the goal of eradicating all of the singularities in Entelestia.

In a decisive battle, Lazaris uses World Rule to seal Sorey and Mikleo's armatus. After disposing of Velvet's factor, Lazaris finally eliminates all the singularities and completes the existence of Entelestia. However in her victory, she is mortally wounded by Van, who reveals his true aim. In response, the party fight him off, giving Lazaris an opening to crystalize him. With her death, Entelestia is erased, and the world returns to its original state.
