🚨 Hey PPC experts (not me) - What side of the fence are you on this one? Is Manual CPC Bidding Nearing Its End? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Discussions here at Brave Agency HQ last week around the future of manual CPC bidding in Google Ads. Seems like reports are that with rapid advancements in automation and AI, the role of manual strategies is being hotly debated. It's above my pay grade TBH ;-) but I'm still listening in... Apparently with Google pushing strongly towards automated solutions like "Maximum Clicks," there's a real concern that manual bidding might soon become obsolete. Here's where the debate seems to be heating up..... while automation clearly must offer scalability and efficiency (I like the sound of this) clearly, it raises big questions about the loss of granular control that our PPC experts have mastered over the years. Could this shift mean a standardisation of strategies that might reduce the craft of nuanced ad management? The potential phasing out of manual bidding by 2024 poses a critical junction for the future of PPC. This isn’t just about adopting new technologies—it's about how these technologies might redefine the roles of digital marketers. For our agency, and likely many others, embracing these changes while maintaining our edge in strategic ad management is going to be a delicate balance and we MUST put clients first. Thinking of DIYing Facebook Ads for your Solar Company? Here are 5 guaranteed ways to blow your budget 👇 1️⃣ Low budget: It's understandable that spending hundreds of pounds on advertising with no guarantee of return can be uncomfortable. However, when running broad targeting, the Facebook algorithm requires a sufficient budget to optimise delivery. Typically, I would recommend at least £10 per ad set and test each ad creative for 7 days. 2️⃣ Testing 1 Creative at a Time: Time is money. Testing one creative at a time will only prolong the time it takes to see results. Instead, test 3-5 creatives simultaneously. 3️⃣ Overcomplicated Targeting: It can be tempting to use detailed targeting, interest groups, and lookalike audiences. In 2024, broad targeting seems to be performing best. 4️⃣ Misconceptions around lead qualifying: The quicker and easier your form, the more people will fill it out. Adding more steps to a survey funnel will simply filter out prospects with low interest. It will not bring you new (more qualified) prospects. Rule of thumb: If you’ve got time to follow up, utilise Facebook's native lead form and filter leads manually (this will ensure the lowest Cost Per Lead) and maximum lead numbers. 5️⃣ Running Ads to Website Home Page: Most solar websites are simply an online brochure - not a dedicated sales funnel. Website home pages tend to be distracting with various headings and articles to click. If you want to boost chances of form submits - run the traffic directly to your contact form. Even better - create a dedicated landing page for traffic which re-emphasises the hook from your ad. ------ 👀 Marketers! What did I miss? 👀

PPC PSA: Heads-up if you currently import from Google to Microsoft, they'll automaticaly import your conversions (and possibly mess stuff up!!!) in the next few weeks so you might want to shut that auto-import function off (since your Microsoft Accounts should already be set up correctly for conversions, right? ;) #googleads #ecommerce #adwords #microsoftads

So something I’ve learnt very well over the years of working and managing PPC. You can have all the relevant keywords, correct targeting, optimised bidding signals, custom audiences etc. But if you’ve got a website that dosent convert well or not at all, it’s honestly a waste of spend. Invest in CRO and your ads will elevate the performance.

We used to publish 5 articles a month for SEO clients, because it fitted neatly into our 'monthly package'. But then we flipped it... We decided to front-load resource and publish 10-50 articles month 1 (depending on budget). By month 6 it made us look like geniuses. There's no benefit to drip feeding content (besides budget constraints). It's better to start the ranking countdown timer ASAP. It's the difference between achieving results month 6 or month 18.

9 years of SEO for 100s of clients has taught me this... The easy part is finding optimisations. The hard part = 🎯  Prioritising work against wider business goals 🙏  Getting buy-in from the leadership team 👨‍🏫  Educating stakeholders on modern SEO 💰  Securing enough budget to get results 📈  Measurement/tracking to show ROI Knowing what optimisations to make is the tip of the iceberg. Actioning them in a busy organisation with limited resources is the hard part. A great SEO strategy will factor in these five key things. Explaining clearly how some seemingly random optimisations will improve traffic and get results. This helps the wider company see the value and benefit to them. And everyone gets behind and supports your suggestions. Without this, your SEO efforts will fail.

🚌 This one's for all of the people who think their PPC analyst can be replaced by a Google dashboard... PPC is so much more complex than a few boxes and a percentage recommendation score. I still see online conversations on a daily basis about people wanting to improve their Optiscore - when even Google have stopped pushing it! Doing Google ads but not getting any conversions? Maybe it's just that your landing pages are a bit rubbish...... Where you send your traffic on your website is very important when it comes to making conversions so tailoring the landing page experience towards achieving that goal can be the difference maker and take you from getting poor returns to jetting off to Dubai for every holiday with your brand new Turkey teeth. One thing SEO's can't agree on at BrightonSEO... 🤐 SGE... (Search Generative Experience) Whilst attending brightonSEO there's a lot of talk on whether SGE will become a prominent part of the search experience going forward... And if it does, the threat is that between 20-60% of your search traffic will decline... Here's my opinion... It won't happen.. Google as a business makes money through ads. SGE distrupts that model. You've also got the issue of web masters potentially suing Google for 'stealing' their content for SGE, which inevitably snatches revenue/leads away from many businesses. Lawsuits for this are already happening across the globe... But Google can just use A.I for SGE can't they? They can. But that makes their product worse. And that, in my opinion, is way too risky for Google at this time. So be ready for SGE and optimise for it. But don't put all of your bets down that it's the future of search, because there's a very good chance it won't be as big as you think. What are your thoughts? Let me know below 👇

SEO plays a massive part in any brand's growth strategy. If not already, it will soon be turbo-charged with the advent of LMAO. LMAO, Language Model & AI Optimisation, is the inevitable optimisation of online results for training language models. It's not a matter of IF but WHEN and HOW. The content you feed today to the internet might be tomorrow's truth on an AI-powered search response or assistant. Unless some decent checks and guards are put in place to guarantee this doesn't happen, which we are very far behind, we will surely need to start considering the consequences and impact of LMAO. #llm #ai #seo #fakenews #skynet #lmao
