From the original Guilty Gear until Guilty Gear XX and its updates, Testament is a trap character, whose fighting style involves littering the battlefield with stationary attacks so that the opponent will run into them, and is one of three unlockable boss characters (the others being Justice and Baiken). Testament has access to long-range Normal Attacks, and projectiles with decent space coverage. In Λ Core, they possess disjointed hitboxes in order to force the opponent into a disadvantageous position where they can begin applying their oppressive offense and okizeme. Testament's defensive options are non-traditional and require creativity to utilize properly.
Following their return in Strive, Testament is classified as a Balance type, and is a tricky zoner capable of controlling the pace of a match with their setplay via the dual succubi they possess and projectile-based neutral.
