Carpenter was a member of the Free States in Appalachia prior to 2102.
Background[]
Carpenter, along with Adler and at least one other Free States member, was sent into the Cranberry Bog to investigate the Brotherhood of Steel's cryptic transmission of "Defiance has fallen." He was killed on March 6, 2096, when a Scorchbeast sighted him as he ran for a trench and he was attacked by a mob of Scorched. According to the other group members, he "put up a good fight" before his death.[1]
