Caroline was a member of the Free States living in the Mire region of Appalachia before 2102.
Background[]
Fellow Free States members Lorne and Darlene were running away from raiders when they came across an advantageous location to build a new community, in Treehouse Village, a series of interconnected treehouses above the Mire. Even though the area was promising, the group lacked the technical knowhow to build something of that scale on their own.[1]
Lorne thought to solicit the help of nearby master carpenter Gavin McCullough and his crew to facilitate the project. He lived in a nearby cabin within walking distance. Caroline offered to make the trip down to meet Gavin and ask for his assistance in building the community, and she was successful in recruiting him to the cause.[2]
