Outpost Building Tips and Tricks
Creating a good outpost in Meet Your Maker means making a level that will be challenging in a fun way and still get some kills of fellow raiders. If you want to get the best rewards these outpost-building tips and tricks will get you there.
Before You Build
- When you build your outpost keep in mind the type of outpost you want to have.
- Active will be raided by other players for GenMat gain.
- Overdrive causes you to lose 300 GenMat when raiders reach your GenMat but you gain more for yourself in kills. You will want to be very confident in your guards and traps before you use this activation.
- Inactive means there are no raids and no gains.
- Social is a more artistic outpost meant to be explored but there will be no resources or leveling gained this way. It will only be found on the Social Raid menu.
- It will also be important to check the bottom bar to see which type of advisor GenMat the burial site (outpost building location) will get you, as this advisor will level up more quickly and make those resources stronger, faster.
- You have to get enough Synthite to buy an outpost before you can build. Do this by completing a few raids.

Building and Placement Basics
- Hold the left mouse button and drag it to build your outer wall of the same block.
- You can only undo the most recent build action or delete everything using the strip outpost command in the build menu.
- Blocks and ramps aren't different parts, there is a command to change the shape of the block, giving you different options.
- A build item will be red if you can't place it in a certain location, and blue when you can.
- There is a specific build capacity allowed on each base dependent on prestige level and the location you purchased, check to make sure you aren’t going over if you’re having trouble placing items.
- Your Harvester will give away your GenMat’s location. If you can hide its route or find a way to let it get ahead and lose the raiders it may help with the success of your traps and guards or allow misdirects. But be sure you don’t have anything blocking the path or your outpost will be inactive.
- You also get materials from accolades that players can give at the end of a raid, to get these you won't want to make the raid impossible.
Where to Place Traps and Guards
- Every kill you get from traps and guards gives you GenMat so try to hide them strategically. Set up your traps and guards to play off of one another. For example, distracting someone with good guard placement is a great way to get them with a trap they weren’t looking for.
- Use second-phase traps to catch raiders on their way out by checking your Trap Mods. These activate only after the GenMat has been collected. You can tell which traps have this mod by the yellow sheen they have over them as well as the yellow flower-like icon at the top of the trap.

Activation and After
- Check the activation criteria in the pause menu on the right side to make sure your outpost is ready.
- Test your outpost when you’re done building it from the pause menu.
- After having your outpost active for a while, don’t forget to check the replay station to see where people were getting caught and where you could improve your traps and guards.
- Your outpost will eventually be depleted of the GenMat, so don't forget to reactivate daily after raiding to earn enough Synthite to prestige the outpost, which regenerates the GenMat.
- With enough Synthite you can own multiple outposts — 200 outposts at a time — but only 5 can be active at once.
