Wizard Build Guide
The Wizard role in Enshrouded can be extremely powerful if you get your build right. You'll want to boost your Mana and use a combination of Wands and Staffs to maximize your ranged attacks. Work with the Alchemist to get kitted out in the best Armor Sets and combine this with the best Weapons the game has to offer, and you'll be blasting through enemies consistently.
Tips for Creating a Wizard Build in Enshrouded
Jump to:
Attribute Points: Intelligence First
When you're creating your Wizard build, you'll want to focus primarily on increasing your Intelligence. You'll find Intelligence nodes across the Skills Tree in blue. These cost 1 Skill Point and will increase your Intelligence by 1 point each time. The bonus of these small nodes on the Skill Tree is that your Magic Damage is increased by 5% for each Attribute Point as you continue to level up.
You'll want to focus on Spirit next, so you can boost your Mana significantly. Each time you unlock the Spirit skills, your Mana is increased by 20 per Attribute Point. This will benefit you greatly when you're using a Staff to cast Spells.
Armor
You'll want to work alongside the Alchemist and complete his series of main story quests and side quests to retrieve his equipment, so you can maximize his crafting abilities. When you first unlock him, you'll gain access to the Alchemist Apprentice Set. This will keep you going for a while, with increased Mana and Mana Regen, as well as +11% Magical Critical Strike Chance. For a similar effect, but at a higher level, we'd recommend aiming for the Mage Armor Set next.
When you're moving toward the eastern side of Embervale, to the Nomad Highlands you'll want to start putting together the Magician Set. And finally, when you reach the Kindlewastes, you should prioritize crafting the Warlock Set. This will boost your Health, Critical Strike, and Magical Critical Strike Damage, as well as give you a small boost in Health regeneration.
Although, we'd actually recommend more of a mix-n-match approach to putting your armor together. Try swapping out the boots on the Warlock set for the boots that the Blacksmith offers as part of the Warden Set. These offer both Health and Stamina Regen, which is far more beneficial.
Using the chest piece of the Archmage Set is also recommended, as this will boost your Health and Mana by +120 and +90 respectively. If you have a preference for your Staff doing more damage over your Wand, it's worth getting the gloves in the Archmage Set, too.
Using Staffs and Wands
You should approach combat by using both a Staff and a Wand for your Wizard build. Equip your Staff to your Q slot, so you can quickly shift between Wand and Staff when in battle. Using a Wand will also allow you to block, in the same way you would with a melee weapon, and attack quickly. Staffs are invaluable but they are slower to use, so a blend of both is essential.
The aim for using the Staff is to get to the point where you can unlock Eternal Spells, such as the Eternal Fireball and Eternal Acid Bite. This means you won't need to keep crafting them, as it's an unlimited Staff Charge, so you just need Mana to use them. Eternal Acid Bite does the most damage, with 165 but costs 120 Mana, while the Eternal Fireball costs 94 Mana but does 114 Damage.
Recommended Staffs and Wands
Apart from unique Legendary Weapons, it's a game of chance to find the best Staffs and Wands in Enshrouded. You'll want to look out for chests during your exploration and find Gold ones for a higher chance of getting a Legendary. That being said, there are some weapons you will come across multiple times in various rarities, so these are the ones we'd recommend watching out for.
Scorching Wand
Silver Storm
Shepherd's Lighting
Root Staff
Shroud Weaver
This is one to set your sites on toward the later areas, when you reach the Kindlewastes and your Flame Level is at 6. It can be found in a chest in the southeast corner of the map, on a ledge.
Skills to Purchase for a Wizard Build
If you're taking on a Wizard role, here are some of the skills we'd recommend unlocking on the Skill Tree. Unsurprisingly, it will mostly consist of unlocking the skills that sit along the Wizard route itself, but we've also included those on the Healer and Battlemage routes to keep you protected.
Skill | Cost |
---|---|
Spirit | 1 Skill Point for Each Node |
This Is The Way | 2 Skill Points |
Quick Charge | 3 Skill Points |
Arsonist | 2 Skill Points |
Thunder | 2 Skill Points |
Iceman | 2 Skill Points |
Pyromaniac | 3 Skill Points |
Radiant Aura | 3 Skill Points |
Sun Aura | 2 Skill Points |
Intelligence | 1 Skill Point for Each Node |
Wizard | 3 Skill Points |
Chain Hit | 3 Skill Points |
Mass Destruction | 4 Skill Points |
Arcane Deflection | 3 Skill Points |
Blink | 4 Skill Points |
Blink Attack | 2 Skill Points |
Emergency Blink | 2 Skill Points |
The special skills you want to unlock along this way will be:
- This is the Way - you can boost all your magical weapons, increasing their damage output by 10%.
- Quick Charge - Reduce the time a Staff takes to use a Spell by up to 50%.
- Arsonist/Thunder/Iceman - all three of these will boost your damage by 10%. Arsonist for fire, Thunder for shock attacks, and Iceman for ice.
- Blink - Teleport out of danger by replacing your Dodge Roll with this
- Arcane Deflection - Parry and you'll gain 20 Mana back
- Radiant Aura/Sun Aura - These only apply to fell foes, but they do 1 additional fire damage per second
- Wizard - Increases your Critical Hit chance by 10% when using a magical weapon
Consumables to Have as a Wizard
Last but not least, you'll want to consider the consumables you take with you or use in battle when playing as a Wizard.
- Mushroom Omelet - once you have the Oven for the Farmer, you can start to cook meals. You'll need to use the crafting menu directly from her, but one of them you should focus on is the Mushroom Omelet. This will boost your Intelligence by +4 for 40 minutes. It relies on the use of Eggs in this recipe, however, so for something easier to make...
- Roasted Azure Russula - you can find these mushrooms all over caves in Enshrouded. But roast them up at the Fireplace and they'll boost your Intelligence by +3 for 25 minutes.
- Mana Potions - speaking of Azure Russula, you'll also need these to craft Mana Potions at the Alchemist (as well as his Mortar). These will give you +80 Mana. For Great Mana Potions, you'll need the Alchemy Station so you can craft an Alchemical Base to go with the mushrooms. Each Great Mana Potion will give you +150 Mana.
