How to Build Circular Buildings
Although all of the blocks you build with in Enshrouded are square, the game still offers plenty of freedom and creativity to build whatever you want - including circular structures. In this Enshrouded guide, we will walk you through the process of building a simple circular structure. Then, once you have the basic premise down, you will be free to build any sort of circular structure your heart desires.
Lay Your Foundations
The first step to any building in Enshrouded is to clear your area and lay some foundation blocks. This allows you to ensure you are building on a flat surface and makes sure all of your blocks are going to fit together nicely.
Once your ground is nice and level, you can lay your foundations. This will likely end up becoming your floor tiles in the final build, so use any material you would prefer.
Press ALT and scroll up and down to select different building blocks, and press CTRL and scroll to switch to different materials.
Don't worry about it if your foundation or floor tiles aren't circular. You can chip away at it one block at a time once the building is complete to make sure it fits perfectly. Do this by selecting the singular block and right-clicking to remove the corners of your foundation. A great foundation block to start with for any structure is the number 7 block in the 4M category.
Build Your Walls
The walls are where you can start to build your structure in a circular fashion. Instead of selecting any of the regular 4x4 wall shapes to build the frame of your building, scroll all the way up to the top until you reach the 1M category. Then, select the single block option.
Building a circular structure does take a lot longer than building a square one since it will be almost completely built out of single blocks, but it allows you to get as close to a circle as possible. The secret of building a circular structure lies in the corners. You want to stagger these and place the blocks diagonally instead of right beside each other. That helps soften the corners and create a more rounded look.
Your building can't be constructed 100% out of diagonal blocks, however. Once you've laid enough diagonal blocks to craft your corner, you will need to lay the same amount of blocks next to each other. For example, if you lay three blocks diagonally, lay another three blocks side by side to create the walls. Repeat this until the structure is enclosed.
Once you're happy with your shape, you can start building the blocks up one by one until your walls are complete.
Build Your Roof
Building a roof on any structure can be challenging, but it can be especially difficult when it comes to building a circular roof. There are no circular roof blocks, which makes things a little more difficult, but there are corner pieces you can use to make it work.
To build a pointed roof on top of your circular structure, press ALT and head to the roof category. Whether you choose 2M or 4M roof pieces will depend on the size of your structure. Select the number 5 roof piece and place it in the air in the center of your structure. Then, work your way down with the number 1 pieces, placing the number 2 pieces in the corners to connect each side of your roof.
If you're building a watchtower, build a flat area on top of your tower and create a small railing by continuing to build the walls up. Place taller blocks here and there to make the roof look a little more interesting.
