Sam, I want what's best, and you know that. (...) I risked everything for you.

Emma Meyer, also known as Little Cricket, is the tritagonist of the Amazon series Gen V, a spin-off series of The Boys. She is a student at Godolkin University and becomes close friends with her freshman roommate, Marie Moreau.

Background[]

Emma was born in the early 2000s, and shortly after her birth, her parents accepted Vought's offer to inject her with Compound V, subsequently transforming her into a Supe and granting her superhuman powers and abilities. Her mother was controlling her body size and measured her constantly. At an unknown point, she started a YouTube channel called "Fun Sized with Little Cricket, acting as a internet personality. In 2023, Emma enrolled into Godolkin University as a freshman and become roommates with Marie Moreau, becoming close friends with her.

Powers and Abilities[]

Powers[]

  • Self-Size Alteration:

Emma possesses eccentric self-size alteration abilities, enabling her to shrink to the size of an ant or grow to the size of a two-story house. Unusually enough, in order for Emma to shrink, she must empty the contents of her stomach, which is referred to as "purging," leading her to gradually shrink until she is the desired size. To return to her original size, Emma consumes food, and to get bigger, she consumes large amounts of food. However, after being scolded by Sam, she unintentionally shrinks down without purging, strongly implying that her powers are dependent on strong emotion and how she's currently feeling with consumption merely serving as a secondary facilitator for that.
    • Superhuman Strength: When enlarged, Emma possesses superhuman strength, which makes her stronger than humans and most Supes. She displays the strength to subdue dangerous Supes such as Sam, preventing him from moving. Furthermore, when downsized, Emma possesses a degree of superhuman strength, allowing her to completely penetrate through a human ear canal.
    • Superhuman Durability: When enlarged, Emma possesses superhuman durability, making her more durable than humans and most Supes. While the full extent of Emma's durability is unknown, it can be assumed that she's more durable due to her increased density.
  • Superhuman Hearing: Emma possesses superhuman hearing, allowing her to hear better than humans. Like all Supes, she can hear higher frequencies that humans cannot.[1]

Abilities[]

  • Social Media Influencer: Emma owns and manages a YouTube channel called "Fun Sized with Little Cricket," where she posts videos of her teenage Supe life as well as her "fights" with her pet gerbil, David Caruso. She is also said to have at least 1 million subscribers, which gives the impression that she is quite well-known.
  • Boxing: Though yet to show her skills in pugilism, it is implied that Emma is well-versed and practiced as a boxer.

Weaknesses[]

Biological[]

  • Brute Force/Limited Durability: Despite being more durable than humans, Emma can still be stunned, knocked unconscious, and killed by extreme force.
  • High Frequencies: Due to being a Supe, Emma is susceptible to high frequencies. When a high frequency is playing, it can induce immense pain and temporarily neutralize her. During a massacre at Godolkin University, Emma is momentarily neutralized through the use of a high-frequency alarm

Relationships[]

Trivia[]

  • Emma is likely a parody of Marvel's Stature.
  • During production, Emma's last name was originally "Shaw," but at some point it was changed to "Meyer." This may have been due to Queen Maeve already having the last name and not wanting viewers to confuse them as relatives.
