Disney Princess - The Concert is a concert tour that features Broadway stars performing Disney Princess songs. The show is produced by Disney Concerts and presented by Pandora Jewelry.[1]
The show was announced on April 27, 2021 by Beth Deitchman in the D23 website as part of the Ultimate Princess Celebration[2].
Background[]
Since 2015, music director Benjamin Rauhala and Broadway star Laura Osnes have performed in the Broadway Princess Party Feinstein’s/54 Below in New York City, a small concert they co-created. The show features performances from other Broadway stars singing princess-themed songs - and in most cases, the Disney Princess and heroines songs. The concert was soon joined by other mainstay performers such as Susan Egan and Courtney Reed[3].
In 2021, it was announced that the show would become Disney Princess - The Concert and that it would be an official Disney Concert. In August of that year, it was announced that Osnes would be replaced with Christy Altomare due to her not having been vaccinated.[4]
After a premiere in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2021, it was announced that the tour would be postponed to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic[5].
