Central City

Central City is a major city in the U.S state of Ohio. It is also home to the scarlet speedster known as the Flash.

History[]

21st Century[]

Murder of Nora Allen[]

"My dad wasn't even at home. My mom sent him to go get a can of tomatoes. I think whoever broke into the house thought it was empty. And then my mom was in there with the knife on her hand and things went bad, just this absurd chain of events."

Barry Allen and his parents, Henry and Nora Allen, lived happily for years in Central City, until June 13, 2004, when Nora was murdered by the Reverse Flash and Henry was wrongly framed for her death, being taken to Iron Heights Penitentiary with a life sentence, inspiring Barry to study a degree in Criminal Law. However, in September 29, 2013, when he was on the crime lab of Central City Research Center, Barry was struck by lightning, which gave him super speed powers, using them to be a superhero.^[2] Since that year, Central City was protected by Barry, now a metahuman superhero known as the Flash.^[3]^[4]

The Flash-in-Suicide Squad — Flash meets Captain Boomerang at Central City Diamond Exchange.

Central City fell victim to a series of robberies by Captain Boomerang, who once planted boomerangs in every prison within a 100-mile radius of the city. One day, Digger, together with an accomplice, infiltrated inside Central City Diamond Exchange and began to stole diamonds. However, he would betray his accomplice by knocking him out so he could have all the diamonds but Flash intervened and attacked him, before being imprisoned in the city, but was later transferred to Belle Reve in Louisiana by Amanda Waller.^[5]^[4]

Attack on Midway City[]

In August 5, 2016, after the disaster at Midway City, many of the fleeing evacuees were hoping for a best case scenario where they could reach Central City, despite being over a hundred miles south. Many were known to have survived the trip, reaching either Central City or Gateway City.^[6]

In September 29, 2017, Bruce Wayne went to Central City in search of Barry Allen to recruit him to the Justice League. He later encountered him in his hideout and after throwing him a batarang, the two revealed their respective secret identities.^[7] Shortly after, as they were leaving the city, they came across a cart of fruits.^[8]

Young Barry runs through Central City — Barry runs through the streets of Central City with his new powers.

In September 29, 2013, when the Barry Allen of Earth-1 arrived in a new timeline and found his self from that reality, he took him to the Central City Research Center where he gave him powers but lost his own. Returning to his apartment, Barry wanted to tell his younger self what happened but the latter, excited by his new powers, fled the apartment into the city where he accidentally began to create chaos by causing several cars to crash and making a pole fall, ending up creating a ring of fire in the middle of him. Embarrassed, the younger Barry fled back to his apartment.^[2]

Zod's message 89 — Several Central City citizens watch Zod's message.

The next day, when the Sword of Rao reached Earth's orbit, from Black Zero, Dru-Zod transmitted a message to the entire planet through all devices with screens. In Central City, several people saw the message and began to panic and ran away in fear. Barry and his younger self, who saw the message in a Central City bar set out to find the entire Justice League to confront the Kryptonians.^[2]

Post-Flashpoint Timeline[]

Liberation of Henry Allen[]

In September 24, 2022, after the change in the timeline caused by Flash after the Flashpoint, Henry Allen was able to show his face in a security camera recording video, which finally gave him the vote in favor of being declared innocent of the homicide and released from prison.^[2]
