Trivia[]
- The series draws inspiration from many comic series, with the most prominent being Peacemaker (Volume 2), and others including Peacemaker (Volume 1) and Suicide Squad (Volume 1).
- The title sequence to the first season is an extravagant dance number performed by the cast, set to the song "Do Ya Wanna Taste It" by Wig Wam.
- Creator James Gunn wrote every episode of the first season solely by himself, and directed five of the eight, with the other three being directed by Jody Hill ("The Choad Less Traveled"), Rosemary Rodriguez ("Monkey Dory"), and Brad Anderson ("Stop Dragon My Heart Around").
- Gunn wrote the entire first season in quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 to entertain himself, never thinking he'd actually get to make the show.[5] When he was offered the chance by Warner Bros, however, he then added a post-credits scene to The Suicide Squad to show Peacemaker surviving his apparent death in the film so he could make the series without resurrecting him.
- This series inspired the comic miniseries Peacemaker Tries Hard!
- The first season of Peacemaker takes place in the DC Extended Universe, but Gunn has confirmed the second season will take place in the DC Universe and will address the continuity changes from the DCEU. When asked how, Gunn responded "you'll see in the show!"[6]
- Gunn shot the second season of Peacemaker simultaneously with Superman.
