Overlord Wiki Affiliation[]

Hello Bleach Admin Yyp,

I am one of the admins from the Overlord Wiki who is seeking to affiliate it with the Bleach Wiki. I am asking your permission if it's possible for our two wikis to be affiliated together?

Sincerely, Overlord Admin Disfigure (talk) 00:19, June 10, 2019 (UTC)

Sorry for the confusion, but it's this wiki: https://overlordmaruyama.fandom.com/wiki/Overlord_Wiki Disfigure (talk) 16:15, June 10, 2019 (UTC)

Game Screenshot FUR[]

Hey, having just uploaded/replaced another Brave Souls image, I realized that it would save a fair bit of time if we could add the template of {{Fair use|game-screenshot}} to the list of licensing options on the upload page, since I keep having to add it manually along with the licensing section every time a video game image gets uploaded. Since the list has already been edited to read "Manga" for the comic book licensing template, I figure it's possible to add another option as well. Thanks in advance.--Xilinoc (talk) 08:48, July 7, 2019 (UTC)

That it is, many thanks my dude.--Xilinoc (talk) 09:20, July 7, 2019 (UTC)

Relationship Statuses[]

No, I'm not here to echo a certain user's claim that Ichigo and Rukia make a better couple than what Kubo gave us, but something stuck out to me when I was browsing just now - does it really make sense to list the end-of-series relationship changes on dead characters like Hisana Kuchiki and Sora Inoue )for example, calling Ichigo Sora's brother-in-law and Kazui his nephew)? I've never heard of deceased people being referred to with post-marriage titles like that if they died before that arrangement was made IRL, so it's a little confusing to see it on the pages here.--Xilinoc (talk) 20:43, July 13, 2019 (UTC)

Coolio, I'm overhauling Sora's page atm but I'll fix the rest now.--Xilinoc (talk) 22:57, July 13, 2019 (UTC)

Template Recoding[]

I'm all in favor of moving Roka's novel stuff to that Expanded Universe tab (in fact, I'm not sure why your idea didn't take off sooner as a solution), but it looks like we're gonna need to recode a few character templates to make this work for all pages - right now, it seems like the templates by default use {{PAGENAME}} to display the character's name, which works fine on the main pages...but leads to Roka Paramia/Expanded Universe's template being titled, well, "Roka Paramia/Expanded Universe" instead of just "Roka Paramia". I took a look at the code myself and don't know how to both remove the automatic name generation and keep the modifier present so each individual page can properly display the character names in that topmost section, so I was hoping you could help.--Xilinoc (talk) 18:56, February 8, 2020 (UTC)

About the EU tab, I think it's a great idea, and am in full support, but I'd like to take it further: How about we make it (in style) exactly like the main/canon tab, except it details exclusively non-canon info. Like filler, novels movies, games, etc... Including powers and traits that were never seen in canon? I'll try to show it with Rukia's page. Timjer (talk) 19:32, February 8, 2020 (UTC)
Okay, so it's still messy, but my main point is to have something like Wookieepedia's seperation of canon and legends. What do you think? Timjer (talk) 19:42, February 8, 2020 (UTC)
Sorry for the repeated posts, but I think my recent edits to Katen Kyōkotsu (Zanpakutō spirit) is a good example of what I was trying to say. What do you think? Timjer (talk) 19:49, February 8, 2020 (UTC)

Ah okay, cool, glad to know it won't require a whole lot of fixing to work (I was envisioning having to go across, like, every character page to actually write their name into the infobox, that would've been a nightmare). Per Rukia, I would wait until Timjer (or someone else, though I think he expressed interest in it) writes up the summary for Bleach: WE DO knot ALWAYS LOVE YOU because that seems to be the most Rukia-centric non-canon thing out there, aside from Fade to Blech Black.--Xilinoc (talk) 21:56, February 8, 2020 (UTC)

Ohhhh, you mean in terms of needing an infobox for each page, I thought we were talking about overall content. My mistake.--Xilinoc (talk) 22:48, February 8, 2020 (UTC)

Fluffing[]

Many apologies for the overediting in last night's moving spree, I was sleep-deprived and...not making the most efficient decisions. Won't be happening again.--Xilinoc (talk) 19:40, February 10, 2020 (UTC)

Why is Aura in the Soul King Nav?[]

I thought this wiki doesn't consider CFYOW canon. Lightning Laxus (talk) 18:21, February 13, 2020 (UTC)

So what about Soul King Candidates?[]

Would you be OK to add the Soul King candidates to the Nav template, namely Ichigo, Ginjo, Hikone, and post-Hogyoku Aizen? AFAIK they're only mentioned in CFYOW. Lightning Laxus (talk) 21:29, February 13, 2020 (UTC)

WandenreichNotableMembers Template[]

Uh, for some reason it's locked. Anyway:

  • Hubert's Epithet should say "Unknown" instead of "None." He's a Sternritter so he had a letter engraved into him by Yhwach. We've seen multiple people holding the same letter before -- the Lloyd twins, Gremmy and his creations, and of course, Yhwach and Uryu -- so it's not like letters are exclusively for 1 person only. We've even seen Greek letters being used for Shaz Domino.
  • All members of the SS should be added. They're the Quincy Squad 0, the royal guard. You have to be promoted to get in. All of them are noteworthy and Gerard and Pernida are even more noteworthy than Lille being pieces of the SK. (Also the a in "X-Axis" should be capitalized.)
  • I would put Quilge Opie lower on the list because he doesn't seem all that important. :|
  • And this I would've asked you anyway even if the template wasn't locked: Are the Arrancars really necessary? They're disposable conscripted soldiers and Yhwach obviously does not care for them. Lightning Laxus (talk) 00:09, February 15, 2020 (UTC)

Edit: Regardless of if we are keeping the Arrancars or not, I suggest removing the "Species" column since it seemingly only exists just to classify the Arrancar. If you decide to keep the Arrancars, I suggest to change their ranks from "Soldier" to "Conscripted Arrancar Soldier" to more clearly showcase why they are being included in the list. Lightning Laxus (talk) 00:16, February 15, 2020 (UTC)

Edit 2: Remove the period from The Balance. Lightning Laxus (talk) 14:31, February 15, 2020 (UTC)

Unlock Shaz's talk page[]

Why is a TALK PAGE locked from editing? Lightning Laxus (talk) 17:20, February 18, 2020 (UTC)

Need to ask, will Shinji's page be unlock? Need to ask because when Brave Soul release his Bankai, I like to add the anime picture on his page please. Darkmachines (talk)

Add Hubert and Shaz to the SternRitterMembers template[]

(Ugh, another locked page.) They're Sternritters, so they should be on a list of Sternritters. Put Unknown for their Epithet and Unique Ability. Lightning Laxus (talk) 15:34, February 19, 2020 (UTC)

Well we do know Shaz's letter and power, since it in the novel that take place during the second invasion, which explain why Shaz was and what his plans were. Darkmachines (talk)

A New Switch Template[]

So when I looked at Tetsuzaemon Iba's page just now, I realized that somehow, we completely overlooked integrating the appearances of everyone who showed up in the epilogue into their infoboxes - Iba is easily remediable because he doesn't change at all between pre- and post-timeskip, but Ichigo, Rukia, Sado, etc. would all now have 3 image options for their infobox, which will necessitate a new switch template with 3 such options coded in. I tried my hand at making such a template, but I'm not accustomed to whatever code is being used to make it and my eyes started glazing over trying to figure it out, so I figured I'd come to you for help (given that Sal's not really around these days).--Xilinoc (talk) 07:06, February 28, 2020 (UTC)

Turns out someone else had the same idea - however, it requires this JS code to work, and I can't import that myself (though I have set up the code drawing from it on Template:Switch2). Would you mind doing the honors?--Xilinoc (talk) 13:26, March 1, 2020 (UTC)
Hey, no worries, I'm just glad you're back, especially now that we've actually got new stuff to handle.--Xilinoc (talk) 00:31, March 22, 2020 (UTC)

It’s not a TV anime[]

It’s a film. Using that tab is misleading to readers.Invader Rob II (talk) 20:21, March 22, 2020 (UTC)

LookMore[]

Gotta say, I like the "Details" button we can put on pages now, like in the Bankai section of Hisagi's infobox. Very neat and will hopefully lead to fewer complaints about a lack of CFYOW rep from people who don't know where to look (I'd say "no", but, well, this fanbase keeps me from being so hopeful). Did you make it yourself or was it an imported, general wikia thing?--Xilinoc (talk) 14:52, March 26, 2020 (UTC)

Galleries for Techniques[]

Hey Yyp, just so you know, Salubri specifically requested that layout with the Video clips being for the Image Gallery and the screenshots for the technique page itsellf. I didn't know if you knew that. SunXia (Chat) 22:02,4/7/2020

Page Protections[]

Hey man, just wanted to apologize for all the excessive page protections you've been undoing recently. It's not my intention to come off as power-crazy or overly restrictive, but my mindset is that some of the trolls/edit warring individuals we've had here have been very persistent and come back weeks or months later to keep doing their thing, such that protecting pages for months at a time seems like the safest option. However, after reading your summaries when lifting those restrictions and talking to Sun, I've decided to just start protecting for a day at a time to start with and to not use that as the default option when dealing with editing conflicts - hopefully this helps ease the chaos you deal with a bit. Sorry again for the trouble I've caused.--Xilinoc (talk) 10:32, May 11, 2020 (UTC)

Hmm. Well, off the top of my head there's two other episodes like that, 32 and 119 (Renji/Rukia's backstory and Ikkaku's backstory, respectively). I think we should classify those as "Expansion" episodes that differ from the usual padding/filler by going way more into detail for flashback segments, and I can make those changes on the Episodes page too - thinking blue background for them.--Xilinoc (talk) 21:18, May 11, 2020 (UTC)

Incorrect Answers[]

Hello Admin Yyp,

I just want to say that there are people giving false answers in so many discussions, and it is kinda annoying. I can't specify which ones because there are so many. I have only been on Bleach wiki for about a week now, and I am not an admin but I wish I was, it would be useful.

As a new member I feel that the place is very unwelcoming and I hate having to correct so many wrong answers when I have other things to do. I have also seen plenty of your edits and the original notes, and I think you are doing a fabulous job.

Also, can you change the captions on some of these Ulquiorra pictures? Most of the ones in the first just say 'Ulquiorra.'. Thanks! They're in here: [[1]]

Vandal on the loose[]

Hey, Yyp, it seems we have a stubborn vandal loose. The User:Luisa_Barbiee_Chow is going around making nonsensical categories and adding them to random pages, and is ignoring my warnings to stop and edit warring as well. Just so you know... Timjer (talk) 14:25, May 22, 2020 (UTC)

Powers and Techniques[]

My I ask why? Because when it come to Spanish and Germain techniques shouldn't we put their main english translation down? Because I don't like the only the Japanese translation only because it make no sense at all. Cero is Zero, Sonido is Sound, Hierro is Iron, and etc. I'm very confused because I look in episode down the line to see their all weird looking. Some have Spanish translation, while others are just all over the place with thing that are all confusing to me.

I can just keep Spanish moves translated to their english meaning and Germain one too please? Also I look at the early episodes and see Xilinoc put both Spanish, Germain, and Japanese translation down? So he's aloud and I'm not? That hurts my feeling a lot Yyp. Darkmachines (talk)

But now all the Spanish and Germain technique make no sense at all? Del Toro is not translated to be a Prince its just Of the Bull, Tijereta is just Earwig and nothing else? Hierro is Iron, Sonido is Sound, Cero is Zero, Bala is Bullet. I don't like how the Japanese translation are suppose to be the real meaning of this words when Kubo clear make both Spanish and Germain the main themes for the Arrancar and Quincy first having Spanish and Germain translation to English first. Everything is beyond confusing to me now. Since all this Arrancar and Quincy translation of all wrong now. Darkmachines (talk)
Also one more think, I saw you when thought episodes 128 to 151, but you sadly didn't add anything at all. Sorry I've been rematch all this episodes to see what technique are being used and you missed many of them you didn't know. Luppi's and Dordoni's are two. Out of respect I won't go back and add everything you do rid of, but I just continue and add in everything that been missed. Darkmachines (talk)
That's why I haven't did do anything yet. Because now I don't know what to do anymore if I can't continue with putting in all the Techniques and Powers that were missed now. Again for the Soul Reapers, Kanji and the english translation to them work because the are based on Japanese, but for the Quincy and Arrancars I make no sense at all. There translation are the english first from what the German and Spanish words is first then its Japanese meaning. Look at everything nothing make sense now because you have to have people go to Google Translate to know what the Spanish or German word really means, not everyone going to click on the techniques page always Ok? Can't I just be always to replace all the Quincy and Arrancars Techniques with their proper English translation please? Darkmachines (talk)
My I please be allow to go back to all the others episodes again to put all the full translation back up again please? Just the German and Spanish ones please. Darkmachines (talk)
How does this feel to you? Put the Kanji and Japanese English translation first then up a Comma after it and put the German or Spanish translation after? Lets clutter and look a lot better then before. Darkmachines (talk)
Ok that all I need hear and know. I'll let you deal with how to put the German and Spanish translation up right? I just thought I found a way to up the German and Spanish translation to English up better now. You have the Kanji and Japanese to English up and after put a Comma and add the German and Spanish ones after. Thought it was a good idea, but you want to deal with translation so I leave it alone for you, just continue where I am add ones that have been missed then. Darkmachines (talk)
Is it Ok do do things this way so we keep the Kanji, but also have both the Japanese and Spanish/German English translation up together? Darkmachines (talk)
I can't do this! If all my hard work is going to take down because all you people care about Japanese English Translation only, then I can't do this. To me for the Arrancars and Quincy Have to Have Spanish and German English Translation first. I try to help, but everything I do, everyone is against it always. You can do all the missing techniques because I can't do this anymore. Darkmachines (talk)

Episode Summary rules[]

Hey, so I saw your message on Darkmachines's talk page about restricting translations on the episode pages to just kanji and their meaning - I understand the intention to reduce clutter and that this was a decision made by the people creating those pages to begin with a while before I got here, but my intention in adding them where they weren't present to begin with was roughly the same as my intention behind adding the Music and Anime Notes sections; providing information for either anime-only readers or those who hadn't read the other wiki pages. In that vein, it seems a little silly to me to not, for example, list the Spanish translations for the Resurreccións, because even though I know that information is elsewhere on the wiki, it's entirely possible the sub/dub that a given reader watched didn't translate it either or only gave the translation for one rather than the other - I sure as hell wouldn't know what Murciélago means off the top of my head without the extra translation or if I'd taken Spanish in high school instead of French, and I'd imagine it'll look confusing when they see a clearly non-Japanese word, but with no katakana or reading attached. On top of that, it just seems like a time-waster to have them click over to other pages if they just want to know an additional translation, rather than in-depth information about the technique and a GIF of it in motion. Point being, for the same reason I put all the censorship instances on the episode pages in addition to their presence on character pages, I think it makes the most sense to save readers time and clicks by just listing all the translations/kana in the sections. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.--Xilinoc (talk) 16:26, June 8, 2020 (UTC)

Ohhh, I've seen those before - never thought to use them on here, but I'd be down if we can figure out how to work it. I assume the underlined portion would be the kanji and kana, each with their separate translations as the "note"?--Xilinoc (talk) 19:32, June 8, 2020 (UTC)
Hmm. If you add the Final Fantasy wiki version here, I can mock up a few variants on my sandbox to see how each of them looks (since you said the version we've got right now kinda sucks).--Xilinoc (talk) 11:41, June 9, 2020 (UTC)
Not to fear, Ursuul is here with proper knowledge of JS. Apparently there's also the option to change the color of the text in order to further highlight it, though I'm not sure on the necessity of that yet (recently I've been trying to work on visibility issues across the wiki and that might aid in it, but idk). Lemme know exactly how you want it used (on what sections and containing what information), and as I start going back through the first 40 episodes to add music/anime notes sections, I'll incorporate this into the technique sections.--Xilinoc (talk) 22:43, June 10, 2020 (UTC)
Alright so, with markup, that looks like this:
  • Descorrer (解空, Drawing Back/Opening (解空 (デスコレール) is Spanish for "Drawing Back/Opening", Japanese for "Loosed Void"))
May need to change the text color but otherwise that works for me. Yay compromise!--Xilinoc (talk) 10:02, June 12, 2020 (UTC)

Poll rankings[]

Hey, sorry about not matching the ranking style on polls 7-9 to the first six - I don't know what those look like in the raws, but the 13 BLADEs polls look like this so I just didn't want to risk inaccuracy if they changed things up.--Xilinoc (talk) 23:13, June 25, 2020 (UTC)

Section Headers[]

Hey Yyp, for what it's worth, my changing only one of the two words in those two headers was intentional - I've been trying to work on readability and visual accessibility in our templates lately, and it can be hard to read white text on an almost neon blue-green background (hell, I've got 20/20 vision and I struggle a bit sometimes) so I figured the best solution would be to change the portion lying on that part of the gradient to black for immediate contrast. But if that doesn't work, no worries, I'll figure something else out.--Xilinoc (talk) 17:50, July 2, 2020 (UTC)

Fair enough, I'll think of alt color schemes to use for the few problem ones at some point down the line (maybe after catching up with the anime notes stuff and before I start the Bount arc).--Xilinoc (talk) 14:35, July 3, 2020 (UTC)

WDKALY corrections[]

Hey, I just wanted to thank you for making the proper corrections to the Bleach: WE DO knot ALWAYS LOVE YOU summary. I know I said I was going to do it, but I didn't have the time yet, so thanks anyway for doing it in my stead. Timjer (talk) 12:35, July 21, 2020 (UTC)

Setting up my own Wiki[]

Hey Yyp I just have a quick question related to setting up my own wiki. I'm not sure how to make tabs on my own wiki and all I have is explore and main page. I want to add more tabs such as the characters and universe tab for this wiki. How would I go about doing this is there any video I can watch or may you instruct me? Thanks. —This unsigned comment is by IMTHEGOAT (talkcontribs) 19:54, 22 July 2020. Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Top bar appearance[]

Hey Yyp, I was wondering: would it be possible to alter the top bar of the wiki (the one with the logo, the page lists, and the quick buttons on the top right on it) so it's a less bright blue or possibly a gradient? Was just thinking that since we're overall shifting away from single solid colors for our templates and such, the bar being as it is looks a little jarring in comparison. I was thinking something like {{Gradient|#00144C|#000000}} (the first value being the color of the top bar when in editor mode) so that all the white and red text remains visible, but the bottom flows more naturally into the rest of the wiki.--Xilinoc (talk) 18:25, July 27, 2020 (UTC)

Fair enough, but I tried to access it and, uh...it tells me I need to log in first, which I very much already am. Do I need a certain role for the permission?--Xilinoc (talk) 14:47, July 28, 2020 (UTC)

Issue Within the Discord Server[]

Hello, I'm not quite sure if this is the right place to put this issue, but the issue itself involves a member of the moderator team within the Discord server, and I saw you're an active administrator.

I had joined a little while back, and had inquired about the situation regarding novel information on the wiki. I suggested in improvements that it would probably be better to list it separately from "Other Media" given the general placement as a cohesive narrative similar to that of filler arcs. Xilinoc had responded and informed me that the novels and filler arcs would likely be placed together in a separate tab at some point. I agreed with this idea, though I suggested they be separate from "Other Media" like video games or stage plays.

From there, the topic spun into general discussion about the novels (due to Xilinoc's inquiry regarding Ichigo's role in Can't Fear Your Own World.) I had assumed this was a civil discussion, but when the topic reached a point involving Byakuya's characterization in confronting Tokinada, Xilinoc had gotten upset, saying something along the lines of "the novels aren't canon" and before I can respond banning me from the Discord server. I had assumed this was a joke, and used another account to enter the server again and ask about the ban, when I saw disparaging remarks from Xilinoc telling other users I was just someone upset the novels aren't canonical again or something, which I personally found disingenuous given what I had assumed to be the nature of our discussion and my general agreement with his suggestion. I posted a message under my other account to correct him and ask why I was banned, but that account was then banned as well.

I'm not sure if you use the Discord server, but all the messages and the conversation itself should still be in there, if you wish to verify what I say. If you were to look through it, I can assure you I was being (or at least assumed I was perceived as) courteous and respectful, and while I do apologize for any perceived offense on my end, I find it somewhat upsetting a moderator would make the decision to ban me over a civil discussion regarding characterization. If possible can I appeal, if you have the power, to review the circumstances and unban me from the server?

Thank you for any consideration. Gildeds (talk) 06:11, August 9, 2020 (UTC)

BURN THE WITCH[]

First off, nice work on the "creation" of the serialization page, smart move we probably should have made 1.5 weeks ago. Second, re: the one-shot, like the original version of the page stated, it WAS released in a tankobon format of sorts with a bunch of interviews and sketches, so I'd like to mock it up a bit like we do the regular volume pages if that's alright (especially since there's a good chance it won't be included in whatever tankobon(s) this serialization will eventually be collected in).--Xilinoc (talk) 02:17, September 3, 2020 (UTC)

Image Policy[]

Hey, just had a thought - can you link me to the template we use for the image policy/guidelines visible when uploading on the wiki? I'd like to add the step of "No JPG images permitted" to the four already listed, just to hopefully save some time and trouble in the future.--Xilinoc (talk) 03:48, September 19, 2020 (UTC)

Got it, thx.--Xilinoc (talk) 18:22, September 19, 2020 (UTC)

Categories[]

Hey, just wanna say thanks for making all those more specific image gallery categories - always felt weird to lump them under just "Images". Definitely tedious work, but well worth it.--Xilinoc (talk) 21:18, September 23, 2020 (UTC)

Re: Effectness of Communication With User[]

Well, first off, you're right on all fronts - I've been a bit of a control freak on this stuff over the past ~48 hours, and you had every reason to be much less polite in breaking it to me. But if you're curious about why I took that turn for no apparent reason, I can explain (in a way that hopefully doesn't come off as justifying or self-pitying); my adding all those movie images/writing up the main article was heavily, HEAVILY delayed by a downgrade in internet speed I've been dealing with ever since Thursday (just as it became available for streaming, amazing timing), and since it seemed like no one else was gonna bother adding stuff from it, I figured it was all on me, more or less, to make sure the wiki got updated. Combine that with various real-world stress factors, a few of which I'm sure you can guess at, and a lack of consistent sleep, and I've basically been on autopilot for the past 15 hours...but the main reason I was so disrespectful, dismissive, and unhelpful toward ShinjiHirako66 in particular was that his first set of contributions to the wiki a month ago pushed that very well-ingrained, eye-twitching-inducing button of "complaining about certain work not being on the wiki instead of doing the work oneself". Then he (in my eyes) broke the rules I'd already explained to him either on the wiki or in the Discord server with those non-discussed profile image changes, so in my less-than-stellar mental state I decided that he wasn't worth taking time to sort out and set on the right path because, like so many other random editors we've dealt with over the years, he was already too far gone, set in his ways, etc. etc. to change for the better. Hence the two-word undo summaries and lack of communication.

But that doesn't matter much in the face of my behavior from an outside, more objective point of view, and I'm quite aware of that. So I apologize for acting so out-of-line for a member of the mod team and even as a general editor, and I thank you for calling me the hell out like this.--Xilinoc (talk) 15:59, October 4, 2020 (UTC)

Well I appreciate the advice, was planning on taking a break from the wiki for most of this coming October after I finish off a couple more Bount things and that solidifies it as a good idea. As for the movie, I can attest that it's honestly amazing and way better than a lot of the anime ever was - I hope you enjoy it.--Xilinoc (talk) 05:09, October 5, 2020 (UTC)

Theme Designer[]

So I was talking to a member of Staff who's on the Discord for technical support and learned a couple things:

  1. The garish new forums can have their color scheme changed through Theme Designer, but apparently the white backgrounds for the individual "boxes" are immutable. Classic FANDOM move of not accommodating for certain type of wikis, in this case dark-colored ones like ours.
  2. Theme Designer can only be edited by admins like yourself, which explains why I was having trouble trying to use it a few months back.

With that in mind, I was hoping you'd be willing to fool around with both the Forum color palette and the wiki top navigation bar that I was lamenting before to make something better reflecting our current CSS usage, darker and with gradients and all that. What do you think?--Xilinoc (talk) 02:05, October 14, 2020 (UTC)

Just noticed the updates, awesome work.--Xilinoc (talk) 14:00, October 15, 2020 (UTC)
Yeah, I figured that was about the extent of what could be done for the forums based on what Ursuul (the Staff member) told me. It'll have to do. As for the header image, if you want a higher-quality version, I can make a version using this - just let me know if there's a size limit for this specific usage.--Xilinoc (talk) 14:07, October 15, 2020 (UTC)
Alright, I'll give it a shot and revert if it ends up looking worse - not used to working with images altered by the format so it just might.--Xilinoc (talk) 14:28, October 15, 2020 (UTC)
Okay, why the heck doesn't this have a filetype and how do I upload over it?--Xilinoc (talk) 14:33, October 15, 2020 (UTC)
Don't lose hope just yet - the height of the top banner is only 105px, and a version of the image I just put up at 150px in height is indeed under 300kb. Give that a try.--Xilinoc (talk) 16:17, October 15, 2020 (UTC)
Well, I managed to get a screenshot of the old version in use prior to you updating, and comparing it side-by-side/overlaid with the new one, this is definitely an improvement - brighter and not blurry at all. Glad we found a workable solution, appreciate you helping me out with this.--Xilinoc (talk) 17:08, October 15, 2020 (UTC)

Site makeup change[]

Hey, Yyp, I'm not sure if this his the proper place to put this, but considering all the changes Fandom is making (including the removal of forums) this is the best place I could think of. Speaking of the changes, I noticed that character infoboxes are no longer at the upper right side of the articles anymore, but are now at the very top, taking up all the space until the actual article starts. I was wondering if it's just a problem with my browser, or if all of you are having it.Timjer (talk) 14:49, 22 October 2020 (UTC)

EDIT: oh, and apparently we cannot hide any article sections anymore (like filler stuff). Good job, fandom! /s Timjer (talk) 14:52, 22 October 2020 (UTC)

Re: Image Gallery fix[]

Appreciate it, all the way to M for me it is.--Xilinoc (talk) 09:41, 24 October 2020 (UTC)

Sock Puppet[]

Hey, seems like we may have a new sockpuppeting user on our hands - compare this and this. Weirdly enough, the first account wasn't banned, but I'm hard-pressed to believe this is two individual people coming up with the same improperly formatted, misspelled, inaccurate info for the same page in the same place, so...--Xilinoc (talk) 18:05, 10 November 2020 (UTC)

Yeah, I wasn't gonna advocate for a ban since it wasn't for outright evasion, but I just figured I should put you on notice should one of the two get banned in the future. Makes sense to show restraint for now, though. (Just a very weird choice on this person's part, is all).--Xilinoc (talk) 00:32, 12 November 2020 (UTC)

Power Level Change Ban[]

Hey, when it comes to repeatedly changing power levels on character pages without prior discussion despite having been warned each time, would you say 3's the magic number for a ban of some length? Because this would be the third strike for this particular editor.--Xilinoc (talk) 08:25, 13 November 2020 (UTC)

Stubborn antagonist user[]

Hey, just wanted to let you know that User:Otakuplayer2005 has twice now brought back a formerly deleted category (antagonists) without discussing it first, and it's bordering on an edit war. They've also kept re-adding the category to pages where it has been removed already. Timjer (talk) 17:41, 18 November 2020 (UTC)

Vandal of Giselle's page[]

Hey, Yyp, just wanted to let you know that user:Nerazmos‎ is currently in the middle of an edit war on Giselle Gewelle's page concerning Giselle's gender. And it's not even good faith edits, it seems to be genuine vandalism afaik. Timjer (talk) 11:10, 19 November 2020 (UTC)

Category:Antagonists[]

Of course, right now, thank you very much, can you help me Yyp-senpai? The problem is that I recreated twice without wanting a category, without the permission of an admin, I'm sorry, I need your help in this, I really like this community, I have no intention of disorganizing, please you help me Yyp- senpai? —This unsigned comment is by Otakuplayer2005 (talkcontribs) . No, I need your permission to create a category Yyp-senpai —This unsigned comment is by Otakuplayer2005 (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Sorry Yyp-senpai, I'm just creating this category because of Zaraki Kenpachi, Wikipedia already considers him an antagonist and anti-hero, so to be well understood for both readers I decided to characterize the "antagonists" that appeared in the manga / anime, the characters that antagonized Ichigo. Greetings too🖒 —This unsigned comment is by Otakuplayer2005 (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Ban Gumball589[]

Hey can you ban this user? He made a Homophobic remark on the Discussions that I have deleted but have receipts. User:Gumball589, thanks. SunXia (Chat) 09:59,11/25/2020

User:Anime International Project[]

Hey, I wanted to let you know that you might consider doing something about the User:Anime International Project. I'm probably not the only one who's tired of their constant rule breaking. They've repeatedly uploaded and reuploaded images without FUR, keeps edit warring on pointless things, keeps making posts on user pages without signing them, and never listens no matter how many times we warn them. While they have made some constructive edits, it's not enough to justify their bad ones IMO. Timjer (talk) 17:05, 30 November 2020 (UTC)

Editing[]

Hello. I´m new here, and I recieved a menssage from you on my talk page saiyng if I have any questions I could do here (I hope that I´m in the correct place to ask the question, because I´ve never really used this wiki, so I´m really new here)... I made an edit in the Yoruichi´s page puting a screenshoot for her on Jump Force, I know that this haven´t been up for now. So, my question is about this, If you don´t mind answering it, I´d like it. PS.: Sorry, If my english isn´t that good, I´m not a native English sepeaker, but I try my best to make it´s good. now, I think it´s a better text (sorry for the amount of edits that I made....)

Xilinoc[]

Heya Yyp, I wanted to recommend Xilinoc for an Admin role here since he's worked with me throughout the transition to UCP to fix bugs & the like, which have often required that I make MediaWiki-page changes on his behalf to implement. If he were an Admin, he'd be able to implement a lot of fixes on his own, without so much involvement from me. Alternatively, if the Content Moderator user group had the ability to edit MediaWiki pages (which I can arrange with Admin-permission), then that would also solve the use-case. Let me know your thoughts.
UrsuulTalkWRDate8:42 PM Friday, December 4, 2020 (UTC)

Glad I could help out, & I'm always around if any other issues arise. Thanks for opening things up for new Admins 👍🏻

Editor Reward[]

Hello again Yyp, your good contributions to Fandom over the year have been really appreciated, so Fandom would like to send you an Editor Reward if we can. If you live in the US, UK, or Canada, then we can send it to you. I can send you an email if that is the case to arrange to send it to you; let me know if that works.
UrsuulTalkWRDate12:28 AM Tuesday, December 15, 2020 (UTC)

Ah, I am sorry we can't send you the reward then, but we do still greatly value all that you've done on Fandom. Carry on!

Ban Neptune Ball[]

Hi, I'd recommend a good ol' infiniban for this fella who decided to make a page called "Why Karin Kurosaki Sucks!" filled with some...uncouth things. Not one of our finest new editors.--Xilinoc (talk) 23:32, 21 December 2020 (UTC)

Re: Salubri[]

Yeah, he's popped into the mod room on the Discord a few times recently, and I DM'd him with the adminship proposals/discussion, so...maybe you should go to Staff after all (was sorely yearning for blocking privileges when that Neptune Ball weirdo was doing his thing yesterday).--Xilinoc (talk) 15:21, 22 December 2020 (UTC)

RE: Promotion Help Request[]

I have the ability but will need to ask permission, hopefully I'll have an answer for you by tomorrow whether I/another Staffer can do so ourselves or if we have to wait for adoption.
UrsuulTalkWRDate4:18 AM Wednesday, December 23, 2020 (UTC)

Done.

User/talk page SUBSTs[]

Hey, until FANDOM decides to fix the bot that fills out new user pages and talk pages with the generic content, what's the SUBST template you use to add both yourself? Figure I can help cut down on the backlog myself when I see red user links on the RC.--Xilinoc (talk) 18:03, 26 December 2020 (UTC)

Oh, goodyyyyyyyyyyy...well, thanks anyway, man.--Xilinoc (talk) 01:02, 27 December 2020 (UTC)

Natural Users[]

The idea of "natural users only" is an incredibly flawed practice and is detrimental from the wiki. I will be using Getsuga Tensho as an example to explain why, mostly because it is one of the few, if no the only ability that this is applicable to.

For starters, the practice is preventing the page from accurately/completely reporting the information about the technique. As of right now, Getsuga Tensho's page only details Getuga Tensho as a Zanpakuto ability. The page completely ignores that Ichigo had the ability as part of his Fullbring. I assume this is because his Fullbring mimiced some of his Shinigami powers. The page also completely ignores that Ginjo knows the ability as well. Regardless if he stole it, it is an immutable fact that he is capable of using it and has done so. This incomplete/innacurate information leaves readers misinformed about the subject

The problem above leads into this one: Inconsistancy within the wiki. Getsuga Tensho's page would lead one to belive it is a Zanpakuto exclusive ability used by only used by Zangetsu, Ichigo, and Isshin. As mentioned above, this simply isnt the case and that is reflected on Ichigo and Ginjo's pages. At best, this inconsistancy can lead to reader confusion, and at worst, leave them misinformed.

The definition of a "natural user" is also ambiguous and is ultimately innacurate to describe the techniques in question, at least in regards to Shinigami. In regards to Zanpakuto, the only true natural user of an its ability the Zanpakuto spirit itself, in this case Zangetsu. Ichigo is only capable of using Getsuga Tensho with his Zanpakuto. Should it become lost to him, he cannot use Getsuga Tensho again. Should he damage his relationship with his Zangetsu enough, he can lose access to its powers and abilities. As seen with Shinken Hakkyōken, Zanpakuto can be passed on to other people and the recipient has access to the Zanpakuto's abilities.

Based on what i saw on Getsuga Tensho's talk page, I don't believe this practice was implemented(or continually implemented) in line with wiki philosophy. As per the Fandom Community Central, Bereaucrats/Admins are supposed to be guides and reflect/enforce rules agreed upon by the larger community, but from what i seen on the talk page was that that Ginjo wasnt added as a user because Salubri simply didn't want it to be and didnt care about the (IMO logical and reasonable) points raised by 4 other users. False accusations[]

Can you point out exactly where I impersonated an admin? Is calling out poor behavior considered harassment around here? LegionZero (talk) 00:35, 15 January 2021 (UTC)

(Sighs) 🍷 Look, we are all trying to be very reasonable and listen to your concerns, but dude what are you doing? I feel like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day, because we keep hitting the same tangents again and again. All of us have been doing this for 10+ years, so I don’t think you waltzing in here like Doug Dimmadome like you own the place is going to get you the results you want. On a side note, we weren’t born yesterday and if what you are claiming is true, THEN BOY you are horrendously unqualified for the job. I want this to be a teachable moment for you and I would still like that to happen, but MY DUDE, please stop. LemursLemurssiggifSkullpngLet's PlaySkullpng 01:50, 15 January 2021 (UTC)

From the start Xil has shut down conversation, didnt direct me to the "proper" way to do things. Then accused me of purposefully trying to start an edit war and trash talking the wiki and mods. And is now accusing me of harrassment and impersonation. For what? Pointing out that some of his behaviors are in opposition to the admin guidelines set forth by the greater wiki: https://community.fandom.com/wiki/Help:Best_practices_for_administrators. Since i got here he has responded to me with utter dismissal at best, and outright aggression at worst. Everytime i ask what specifically i did or said violated which policy i get the run-around and that im immature, and that i should just move on, and that im a bad admin, and that i need to learn and over all condescension. Maybe, just maybe, i have a point and yall just dont like hearing it. Im not gonna let Xil throw dirt on my name. Im not gonna bother discussing this any further with you, Yyp is the only person here who has taken a look at any of this in its objectively in its entirety. User:WifeBeater564[]

Hey, I noticed there is a user on the discussions page who's named "WifeBeater564". Is that even an acceptable username? I also had to delete a comment of his due to unnecessary use of foul language, just so you know. Timjer (talk) 13:06, 17 January 2021 (UTC)

Community Connect 2021[]

Hello Yyp. I just wanted to make sure you saw in your email that you've been invited to our virtual Community Connect for 2021 (event details). Please RSVP so that we can know whether or not you'll be able to tune in March 6th and 7th. In case you can't make it, we want to make sure we have time to invite another awesome editor.

More info can be found in your email associated with your Fandom account, we've been receiving reports that the invitation has been lost in spam folders so be sure to check there as well.

What if Uluqorria Cifer reincarnated into Kazui's zanpakuto ?[]

Yyp, you have forgotten one important thing. Ichigo inherited its hollow from his mother. And that hollow is converted into its zanpakuto. Did you forgot that part—This unsigned comment is by Morin Das (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

A Fullbrings page?[]

Hello, I wanted to ask if there can be a page for Fullbrings like other weapons. I made a discussion and two other people agree. Please fix the Stern Ritters template[]

Liltotto and Giselle are described as dead in this template. The novel has confirmed they are not dead, but the manga source also never actually confirms they're dead. It's inaccurate to list them as dead.

I think it's better to update it, thank you.

How to Find Support for Your Wiki[]

Hello!

I’m Elsa, and I’m a Senior Community Manager here at Fandom. You may have seen the news that, as of April 2024, the Wiki Representative program has been retired. You can read more about that change here.

That’s led to changes in how a number of wikis on Fandom are directly supported through our new support setup. As a result, we no longer have an assigned point of contact for this wiki. We’ve loved having the chance to work with your wiki directly, and I can assure you that there are a lot of ways that you can still get help and support from the Fandom team.

If you need assistance with anything you might have contacted your Wiki Representative about, here are some ways you can reach out and stay informed about the Fandom platform moving forward:

  • Join our Fandom Discord server. Not only can you discuss wiki issues directly with other editors and Fandom staff, but it’s also a great source of information about what’s happening on the Fandom platform.
  • Browse our help pages or get in touch with other editors on the Community Central discussion forums.
  • Check out Dev Wiki, a great source of custom and site-wide scripts with a group of technical editors who can also answer questions about technical subjects like custom code.
  • We’ll be working on some other ways you may be able to find additional support and even mentorship opportunities as well.

For anything else, feel free to submit a help request via the Fandom Help Desk where we have a team of Customer Support experts who can give you a hand.

So while the specifics of our community support setup may have changed, we remain committed to supporting your wiki – so don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any questions you may have.
