Absolutely loved it. These games have combat that clicks with me better than I’ve experienced in any other game. So go have this excuse to get back in there and play around with all kinds of configurations of the combat system was great. And still lots of story! The main game was a masterpiece and this DLC is one too. I can’t think of a single thing to criticize. Loved it.

Could only make it part way through episode 2. I LOVE the expanse. It’s likely my favorite show and favorite book series of all time. But I’ve never been able to finish a Telltale game… the gameplay just doesn’t capture me. And that was true again here. I loved the idea of playing as Drummer. It just wasn’t fun and the story seemed to be pretty generic and low stakes and I didn’t like any of the other characters. And perhaps most of all, it just didn’t look good. Space environments in particular look super flat. Character models are alright. Ships look decent and there’s enough detail inside to feel pretty real. Really wanted to love this game and I’m still glad I paid for it because I want to support and encourage the franchise… but that doesn’t extend to lying about my experience in a review.

Enjoyed it alright but didn’t feel compelled to finish. Nice graphics. Really alluring setting, nailing that lovecraft vibe. Gameplay was simple but moderately satisfying.

Played through one full game. I enjoyed it. But when I started the second… I just couldn’t stick with it. This is the issue I have with all 4x games. I was hoping the meta that connects multiple playthroughs here would hook me but once I saw more of what it was, I wasn’t that interested.

Echoing what critics have said. The gameplay was excellent. The story was lacking (so I just skipped all the dialogue). Super tight controls. Every failure felt fair. I wasn’t especially interested in combat challenges so I set the combat difficulty to easy and I’m really pleased they included such an option.
One thing that is baffling to me: why did they not include HDR? The game is so pretty. It’s from a AAA dev/publisher. Even on quick scroll, it took like 10 minutes to get through all the credits. Just weird.

I LOVE sci-fi, and space opera more than anything. I loved Skyrim and Fallout 4 at the time. But god damn I just cannot get into this game. I’ve tried 4 or more times. There’s lots of little problems but the biggest problem is the constant load screens. I spend so much time interacting with the menus and the menus aren’t even good. It is not fun to run around the world, get to a place, and then load screen to enter. So then I tend to just fast travel everywhere which makes the whole world seem extremely small. Progression is incredibly slow. The dialogue and main plot are shallow. The two good things I can say are that the graphics are excellent (overall, but I especially gush over the plushies) and the main theme / stringer music is really good.

I don’t get it. I wanted to like it. But yet another JRPG that baffles me as to how people can like it so much, and wishing I was one of them. I literally fell asleep during several of the lengthy cut scenes. The combat was okay. The cutscenes were excruciatingly long and frequent. The overall story had some potential, but because the moment to moment was so dull it was hard to get into the broader story. Played for 8 hours, hit level 20. So maybe with more investment the progression system and story would have paid off… but I just couldn’t justify spending more time given how unsatisfying it had been up to that time. While I really liked the music of the Home Screen, there was little in game music I enjoyed. Graphics were excellent, art style was okay, performance was good.

Came back to play the Iki Island expansion after having loved the main game. Felt very similar about this DLC as the main game: really liked it though not quite a masterpiece. Can’t place my finger on what holds it back from that. It’s beautiful, has great sound, no HUD, just follow the wind, great voice acting (though one guy did way too many of the additional voices), very good combat that is unlike anything else I’ve played but feels so perfect for the setting, amazing attention to detail. I can’t wait for a sequel.

Some silly fun. Played a couple hours with my wife. I could see spending more time in this game when I was younger and getting a lot of laughs from it. At this point though, I need a little more story to keep me coming back.

I just don’t get it. Played the precursor to this game too (well a few hours anyway). In both cases I find myself literally falling asleep over and over. The cut scenes are SO long and they aren’t even good. I don’t like any of the characters. The basic plot isn’t compelling. The combat is interesting but feels like 5% of time spent in game. I’m drawn to it because of how much everyone raves about it and all the mini games and madness. But I just can’t get past the stuff described above.

Could see myself getting deep into it, but already happy spending my competitive fps time in Battlefield 2042. Really like the announcers commentary. Love the game show style. Solid shooting and movement. Fair micro transactions. Progression was a bit slow for me at first and part of why I didn’t get hooked I think. Amazed by the destructability.

Played on ever VR I’ve owned. Still one of the best experiences I’ve had in VR. Lots of fun, as much challenge as you want, some truly bumpin songs, and great visuals. Simple to grasp, difficult to master.
