Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door News
This was the first time we have played Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and it is amazing. This is Nintendo Story telling at its best. So this is my first time every playing this game.
First off, i am old enough to say i have owned every Nintendo System in the same era of their release. I missed several games from the GameCube era and this was one of those games that i missed.
Paper Mario:TTYD is a game that very well could define what a Mario video game could be. To think that we spent 36 hours on a Gamecube game was surprising and time flies when your playing good game.
The story of TTYD is incredible. While the Big N has had some extremely good stories this Paper Mario game ranks in my top 5 greatest Nintendo Stories ever told.
The Gameplay is very generous and feels like a starter JRPG in many ways. This game is not hard to Pick up and play.
After finishing Paper Mario there were some reasons to continue playing. So the story can continue if you want it to.
If you have never played a Paper Mario game and wonder which one is the best, Thousand Year Door is the best hands down. If you are a Nintendo fan or a RPG fan, Play this game.
To Nintendo, Please make a Paper Luigi game. This game shows that Luigi could have had another story to tell other than busting ghosts.
Easily the best Mario RPG, and one of the best RPGs period. Amazing battle system, impressive build variety, funny and charming dialogue that hasn't aged at all, stunning presentation. This is one of the best Nintendo games ever and essential for the switch, even if you didn't like previous games like origami king. If you like this, play paper Mario on the N64 NSO app, it's also excellent.
As a modern paper Mario fan I’d always heard stories about how good the classic titles are. Well the hype is real because TTYD is a phenomenal rpg, it has a uniquely approachable rpg system, easy to learn but hard to master. But the praise doesn’t end there, in fact its story and world is perhaps on of the most heartfelt and real story in the Mario franchise.
I loved every second of this game even as the pacing threw everything at the wall near the end of the game, it’s an absolute must play.

If you enjoy the Paper Mario series or never played it before, I strongly recommend playing Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door on Nintendo Switch, after the graphics improvement and the extra dialogue to read from Goombella, this game is a solid 10/10.
Weird how hyped this was/is. Not a bad game, but the turn based combat is boring as always and it‘s nowhere near other GC gems like Metroid Prime or Pikmin. 7,5
I’ve played to the final boss, so I think I can say now that this is an amazing game and is probably one of the best games ever at this point
Despite a good amount of double back running VERY frequently this is a fun engaging puzzle platform RPG blend that works well. Nostalgia glasses will give those who experienced the GameCube original even more appreciation but as a newcomer I can still highly recommend the game.
Paper Mario has finally returned to its RPG roots with an amazingly loyal and visually dazzling remake of The Thousand-Year Door. Everything fans have been begging Nintendo to bring back is here, including a delightfully varied turn-based battle system with satisfying real-time elements and unique, lovable party members who are essential to both the story and gameplay. Rogueport and its surrounding areas are bursting with personality thanks to writing that’s just as sharp and funny today as it was in 2004. It also introduces a host of modern improvements that streamline (but don’t eliminate) the original’s backtracking issues, easily making this the best way to experience Mario’s quest to gather the Crystal Stars. There’s a reason The Thousand-Year Door has been considered one of the greatest Nintendo games for the last 20 years, and this brilliant remake ensures it will maintain that reputation for at least a thousand more.
A great classic,it has some flows like how the game until you unlock a certain character is slow as hell, the text speed is lock to slow and sometime is just mashing the A button. For the rest one of my favorite cast and loved how they didnt touched anything exept Mario doing a thumbs up
One of my favorite games growing up got the remake treatment for the switch and I couldn’t be happier that more people get a chance to check it out. I still think this is my favorite Paper Mario from a nostalgia standpoint, but I think it’s hard to overlook some “old game” tendencies that plague this game. Pacing and weird end-game difficulty spikes make me much more cooler on the experience than I would have anticipated.
Some of these outdated game design issues, while present, don’t take away from an overall really solid game. An absolute must play for those who haven’t played before. Thankful for the nostalgia trip.
