Consider recently beat section games I have finished, not necessarily recently. Check 2024 playlist for what I’ve finished this year, backlog is games I intend to play. Love rpgs, tough as nails platforming & all things indie!
As a modern paper Mario fan I’d always heard stories about how good the classic titles are. Well the hype is real because TTYD is a phenomenal rpg, it has a uniquely approachable rpg system, easy to learn but hard to master. But the praise doesn’t end there, in fact its story and world is perhaps on of the most heartfelt and real story in the Mario franchise.
I loved every second of this game even as the pacing threw everything at the wall near the end of the game, it’s an absolute must play.
Don’t Starve is a survival horror game that’s less horror and more just offbeat. It’s aggressively difficult, with good mechanics, its flaw lies in how it paces it difficulty. It doesn’t give the player a tutorial, and while not knowing anything at first is fun (here that is by design) death often begins to feel less fun and more like a chore, and in a survival game, death should teach the player, not punish.
TOEM is a game about taking photos! Your dropped into various different maps with this objective, it’s wonderful in how it goes about it’s gameplay, however for a game about photos it’s frustrating that there’s a limit on how many you can keep in your album, and I wouldn’t have minded a few small adjustments to the movement. Ultimately though it’s a cute cozy little game well worth the time.
Endlessly charming management game where you run your own Pizza shop! About all there is to it really (though with the controls it’s perhaps best experienced on PC)
Genuinely endearing Pokémon point and click style game, nothing that’ll blow your mind but it’s worth it for how lived in the games world and characters feel alone.
Still find it odd how this game is one of the most visually appealing things this franchise has ever put out, outside of that it’s DS Pokemon battling on the Wii, nothing else to it really.
It’s another version of Pokémon Sun, it would be a better version but the story was botched, if you want Pokemon Sun but with a worst story and pretty much a better everything else this is the game for you.
It’s a cheap slightly clunky remake of Pokemon Diamond, missing the content from Platinum. Cheapness aside it really is just Pokemon Diamond but again (also the underground is kinda neat), what else is there to say really.
