Trigon was an interdimensional demonic being dedicated to dominating the entire universe, and the father of Rachel Roth and Sebastian Sanger. On Earth, he was worshiped by two cults: The Organization and the Church of Blood.

Biography[]

Early life[]

At birth, Trigon killed his own mother, and before his first birthday, he ruled an entire planet. At the age of six, he destroyed an entire planet.^[1]

Banishment[]

Some of Trigon's life has been recorded in an ancient text known as the Gul'ron Dez Dire ("Death of Worlds"). The age of the book implies that Trigon has been around for many years. Long ago, he arrived in the human dimension and managed to destroy a world. As a result, he was somehow forbidden to return, imprisoned in his realm for all eternity.^[2]

Prophecy[]

In 1998, Trigon had a son with the human May Bennett; Sebastian Sanger.^[1]

Trigon was somehow summoned back to Earth in order to conceive a child with one of his acolytes, Angela Azarath,^[3] with the intention of having that child, Rachel, serve as his doorway into the human dimension. Due to his banishment, he was forcibly taken back to his world. The child would also be the anchor that keeps Trigon in their dimension. Once he returns, he will engulf worlds, such as Tamaran, in darkness and they will burn. Earth will be one of his first targets.^[2] Other organizations, such as Doctor Adamson's, had knowledge of his return.^[4]

Interfering with his plans, a woman named Melissa Roth took Rachel as an infant and ran away. They hid at Saint Paul's Convent for some time in hopes of finding sanctuary and escaping Trigon and his followers.^[4] Over time, Melissa would raise Rachel as her own and keep her background a secret from her. For over thirteen years, Trigon's acolytes searched for Rachel. At some point, one of his acolytes managed to locate them and killed Melissa, but Rachel escaped as they continued to pursue her nonstop.^[5]

Return[]

One night, while Gar Logan was in a life-threatening condition, Angela managed to pressure Rachel into summoning her father from his realm, stating that he was far more powerful. Contacted through a mirror in the house, a hand was reached through to him and he was pulled out of his dimension, being able to freely roam Rachel and Angela's world. As promised, he healed Gar, but with the intention to wreak havoc.^[2] Shortly following, Dick Grayson entered the house, whereupon Trigon put him into a dream world, enabling him to come to terms with his darkness, ultimately taking control over Dick.^[6] Seeing her friend consumed by darkness, Rachel attempted to retaliate, but Trigon took her powers from her. Rachel ran away with Gar, forcing Trigon to send Dick after them. One by one, members of the newly-reformed Titans made their way into the house, following which Trigon put them into their own dream worlds, having them all consumed by darkness. Having been unable to escape, and Rachel helpless, Trigon had them all beat up Gar to near-death. He then took Rachel's heart from her body, crushing it, and transforming it into a ruby that he lodged in her forehead, along with transforming himself into his true form.^[7]

Defeat[]

Trigon headed outside, where he began work on destroying the planet, beginning with the countryside. However, before he could proceed, Rachel found it within herself to manifest her powers, using them to disintegrate Trigon's coporeal form & banish him to his rightful dimension.^[7]

Death[]

In the final episode of the Titans, Trigon rises again and then is killed by Brother Blood.

Trigon can be best described as the living embodiment of evil. He is cold, ruthless, manipulative, and uses others to further his own goals.

Powers and Abilities[]

Powers[]

• Demon Physiology: As an inter-dimensional demon, Trigon has a host of unique abilities. Although he often appears in human form, his true appearance is huge and monstrous-like, with multiple eyes, horns, hooves and red skin. Trigon's presence disrupts energy generation and causes blackouts.^[2]
  • Dimensional Travel: Trigon can teleport to and from his demonic dimension, although he needs his daughter to act as a doorway in order to do it after he was banished.^[2]
  • Illusion Casting: Trigon can create elaborate illusions to fool others, being even capable of appearing like an ordinary human,^[2] or creating fake realities.^[6]
  • Healing: Trigon is able to resurrect others being or heal wounds in mere seconds just by imposing his hands.^[2]
  • Telepathy: Trigon is able to gaze into the minds of mortals. He can learn a person's entire history by reading their mind, and usually reads his opponents' minds to learn how he can manipulate them.^[6]
    • Mind Control: Trigon can possess anyone he feels necessary for his plots. He is capable of enslaving and controlling anyone if he surrenders to his inner darkness.^[6]
  • Flyrogenesis: Through concentration, Trigon is able to project fields of psionic force which he can manipulate in shape and size, even giving them cloaking capabilities.^[2]
  • Immortality: As a demon, Trigon does not age like mortals and is said to have existed for centuries, if not millennia or even since the dawn of time.^[2]
  • Superhuman Strength: Trigon was able to get through Rachel's body to get her heart out. He was easily able to snap Angela's neck.^[7]
  • Transmutation: Trigon was able to transmute Raven's heart into a red mystical gem.^[7]
  • Life Destruction: While walking all the fauna and flora on their way died instantly.^[7]
  • Shapeshifting: Trigon can change his appearance from his true form into a human form.^[7]
  • Power Negation: Trigon is capable of completely negating or rendering other individuals abilities useless, as demonstrated when he disabled Rachel Roth's demonic abilities, although they were restored shortly after her rebirth.^[7]

• Master Manipulator: Trigon is a master of deception and manipulation, he often poses in order to appear as a being^[2] and is perfectly able to trick people into doing what he wants in order to make them surrender to their inner darkness.^[6]
• Expert Leader: Trigon is said to be very charismatic and has countless of acolytes who followed him blindly.^[8]
